If it was a democratic member of Congress talking to Iran or north korea, people would be losing their ****, but since it's israel, nobody will bat an eye because Israel can do no wrong.

How can a foreign govt. tell a sitting congressman, "what will it take?". That's outright bribery.

I did not see that in the article.

There was no vote on the idiotic Iran deal, so you can't bribe someone to vote this way or that way since Obama/Kerry did their own thing.

Well the anti-Zionist subset of this board sure makes for strange bedfellows when it comes to Israel. Left and right alike can join forces in their faux outrage. When Heart and Mach are having a "get a room" moment, everyone should be wary.

Need I remind all the hysterical posters that the communication in question was directed towards the Iran nuke deal that this board has justly eviscerated as not a deal but an massive capitulation and give-away by this administration.

So people who were "conspiring" to block this abomination are traitors? Get a fu**en grip.

I don't remember, were you an objector to BiBi addressing Congress before the Iran nuclear deal?

Nothing unusual about this sort of thing.

http://www.americanforeignrelations.com/...bbies.html

Quote: "By the late 1970s the number of registered foreign agents lobbying or otherwise working on behalf of foreign governments had grown to more than 600, compared to 160 in 1944, and observers noted that this was just the tip of the iceberg. Former high-ranking executive branch officials and members of Congress, including former secretaries of state and chairs of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, registered as agents for foreign governments."

Given how wonderfully well that deal appears to be working, why would anyone have opposed it?

So, which is more shocking and disconcerting - that officials in Washington are for sale or that some of them are using the government to spy on each other?

Pretty much dirty and filthy all around.........

Sickening.

You ARE talking about the Obama administration violating the constitution by wire-tapping American citizens talking to Jewish-American organizations, right?

If you link an article, you really should read it.

I don't think any of the people commenting have actually read the article! The issue is that the Obama administration was wire-tapping Jewish-American organizations and picked up conversations between Congressmen and a Jewish-AMERICAN organization.

We probably ought to look at prosecuting those who did the wiretaps.

I pointed out the irony of it l. People like Rubio are so Gung Ho for wire tapping until it happens to them

Foreign Governments lobby Congress all the time. Do you think it was easy to get Lend/Lease passed? Just to name an obvious one. You don't think the French Japanese Canadians or Lithuanians don't have people/organizations lobbying on their behalf? Israel faces an existential threat from Iran. It's biggest ally is negotiating a 'deal' that will make it easier for them to attach Israel. Its not unreasonable to see them lobbying against a deal that could lead to massive bloodshed

RE: Traitors in Our Midst...
Let's deal with the underlying reality instead of the result.

We should have a problem when our congressmen can be lobbied by foreign government and influenced to place foreign interests over our own.

That's the problem. It isn't made okay because it is an ally doing the influencing.

That type of behaviour is dangerous. I personally don't want a soul up there placing any foreign interest over our own. It's been going on too readily over the last several decades.

The issue is not the Iran deal, or Israel, it is foreign influence peddling and our congressman playing.

I'm for rooting out and exposing any person in government that would put foreign interests over our own, end of story.

None of this should be surprising to anyone. Does anyone doubt that the US does these things to politicians of other countries or worse things that Israel is accused of here? I bet no one would be upset over the reverse happening.
