At first I was not sure who he is but after some reading up on him in excited

Interesting hire. He's a bit of a job hopper, but most assistants are these days.

OK it seems he's been "coached" on what to say. Build off the present offense and progress with the defense. I am guardedly optimistic, what choice do have, let's see where this thing goes.

Just glad it is done. Certainly not what I expected but hopefully he can move us forward. He, unlike Fritz, is from Georgia and should be more connected here. It will be interesting to see the direction offensively we go

I love the hire, personally. Young guy with great energy. He's from Georgia and loves his family and god. His players like him and most importantly they respect him.

Honestly, assuming recruiting holds its path this year, we won't miss a beat. Defense probably gets better.

Interested to see his staff.

most of our fan base won't like the hire much because it isn't Erk Russell or someone from the PJ coaching tree. lol

Thankfully we didn't go for a flexbone coach.

2 years ago I wanted a flexbone coach to replace Monken. After Fritz I didn't want to go back. I still prefer an option based attack of some sort but we absolutely have to incorporate the new fangled idea known as the forward pass into our offense

We like to start them low and raise it every year if he has success. Fritz at year 1 was at 400K and supposedly he turned down 800-900K in what would have been year 3. I could see Summers starting at 400-500K in year 1

He was being paid 300k at CSU...I doubt he's coming across the county to GSU for 400k...your likely paying no less than 500k

Our coach was paid 550k at Kentucky as OC.. we offered him 660k but got the highest budget for assistants to hire with in the SBC at 1.2 Million.

I think it's great he's from the area. Deep family roots.

Was the OC for UCF with Summers ( interim DC) back when they won the 2014 Fiesta Bowl.

I wonder if the clincher was he has same hairstyle as Erk. Seriously I hope he is the right guy. Now win in Mobile to get us back to .500 after we laid an egg last night.

I hope we play to win for our seniors. It is really uncharted territory for us to play a game with a group of coaches who will mostly be gone after Wednesday
