Would going undefeated and playing one quality Power 5 team a year ever allow you to get into the football playoff? Would have been a close call this year...

P5 conferences don't seem too excited when their school play g5 programs. See some of the new P5 scheduling rules which limit g5 opponents.

Wouldn't bother me to get the sec schools off the schedule all together. Why on play some ACC or Bee One Gee schools?

Another positive for playing Miss. State vs. UTK is that we recruit much more in central Mississippi than East Tennessee.

This is BS and we have to do it to get butts in the seats for home games..at least it is convenient for a road trip, but damn the $EC.

I would much rather play Duke, UCLA, or another Big XII school.

With the 4 team playoff, I think you're close but not quite there - finish maybe 5th-7th? Go to an 8 team playoff, and it gets you in (I'm assuming that you have at least 1 - 2 top 25ish wins in the AAC, which I think is a reasonable assumption going forward).

I'm all for playing MSU, we have played them off/on traditionally & it's always been fun. I'd like to see some SEC east school in the schedule too - not so much UTK unless they play the game due us at Memphis & then start the next series at Memphis (& no BB before the 1st FB game). Would just as soon see Oklahoma, OK St, TX or any of the ACC schools where fans travel well, but it's always satisfying to get a win against the "mighty" SEC.
