IMO. The jury is still out on Fritz due to the softness of the lower end of the belt but how he navigates this will be very telling. The same goes for GS's seniors and on field leaders.
You and everyone else close to the GS program. This is a defining game for Fritz as head coach. He has to understand that the expectation is that he WINS the big games, not just gets to them. And if his track record of the season continues into next season, I have a feeling 2017 will be breaking in a new coach whether he receives his P5 offer or not.
In all due respect, give Fritz a chance to have HIS recruited players on the field before passing judgement. Any new HC needs a minimum of 3 or 4 years to establish exactly the type of player he needs for his system. He needs a true dual threat QB to fully implement his offense. I understand the winning mentality at GaSo (just like at App) but to put too much judgement on one bad loss and a bowl game against a very seasoned Bowling Green team is a little tough. That said, I expect GaSo to kick some Falcon azz.
Agreed! This was a bad loss but Fritz is a good coach and GS's program is growing not only because of football tradition but the state alone is going to provide plenty of talent that wants to go to GS. The program, like Apps is growing fast and will only get better, lumps like this one happens sometimes and probably will again. Fritz will be fine recruiting and continued success.
Congrats to State........this kind of thing won't happen much in the future. They kicked butt last Saturday though.

That's what I'm wondering.

Where is Haisten Willis' game recap? I mean, he only had 5 or 6 spots on Underdog Dynasty the week leading up to the game. What is the joke... never Ben Moore wrong?
As for everyone else, hat tip. Most everyone has been classy or as classy as you can expect when it comes to football. The tailgate is open next year at the Dome to whoever wants to stop by.

Stan how was your experience in Statesboro? Did you get a chance to meet up with anyone from the board or tailgate?

Don't think Stan went BUT we got to hang out with a few State fans, very nice very cordial. Only time I was nervous about the atmosphere was halftime. Southern fans were visually ticked off and it seemed something might go down in the student section between some extremely brave State fans and then students. Thankfully the police came in and gave the State fans better seats.
This rivalry has potential but we don't need anything violent to taint that.

Wish I was there. I was on a trip celebrating my anniversary with my wife. My friends who went down had nothing bad to say at all.

That's right, I knew that. My b.
I'm glad to hear of the good experiences by the visitors. I know that for some reason Statesboro and Paulson have a bad reputation for visiting fan bases, and I do my best each home game to try to change that. The older I get, the more I realize that it's a game, and as much as I invest in it physically, financially and mostly emotionally, I cant let it stop be from being a good human. I go out of my way to welcome visiting fans before the game, and to wish them safe travels after the game. I hope that all my fellow Eagles can also do this and we can change that reputation into one that visiting teams want to come and enjoy a game (and lose though. no more of what happened Saturday!).

I actually started doing this thing this season. I made a point at least 5 times on game day to go up to an opposing team's fans, and thank them for coming. I look forward to visiting their stadium. And I hope to see them back in two years. I have learned timing is everything. At the last home game, we had a good lead on Troy at the end of the 3rd and said that to someone in the concession line. I think we were up 31-14 at the time. As soon as, I said thanks for coming, I got a look of thanks a lot smart you know what. So your tactic of before the game is a best practice I should copy.

Lol yes you have to take a situational approach. If you just beat someone bad. Just a simple "good game, have a safe trip back" is usually all you need.

Before the game is the best practice.
