Very happy. A win over big-name competition is always good for our program, regardless of whether or not you like our coach.

Always glad when the Tigers win, particularly on national tv. Cannot forget losing AN and what it has meant to this team and its structure. IMO Pastner is going to sink or swim here this season when its all said and done. Last night he did well.

I'm very happy for the win in a national tournament over a P5 conference team.

But sad that I still don't know most of our players at this point in the season. This is so unlike me and previous yers of fandom for Tigers Basketball. (It's kind of like I'm scared to get too emotionally involved with this team for fear of being let down. lol.)

Look on the bright side, the refs love us! We shot nearly double the free throws.

Nice win...
Ohio State is not very good, though.

Dedric Lawson is a special talent.

Asking that question likely would sound ridiculous to those outside of the "fan" base, but judging by comments I've seen, it does look like the win ruined the night for many. Ponderous.

Chin up, miserables. Plenty of chances to bash still to come!

I agree as well. I haven't been enamored with the accomplishments under Pastner but I still root for my team

That is because we were a little quicker and consistently drove to the basket, forcing them to foul or give up the lay up. Coach Pastner has done well in choosing the 4 out, 1 in dribble drive offense for this team.

I also noticed that we had much better ball movement against the zone when they tried it.

The team is organized and improving. We are playing good defense. The coaches are doing a good job this year.

I watched the game with a friend of mine in the hospital who's not a fan of either school and he was laughing at the ineptness of both teams. I guess it did him some good. Maybe the doc will prescribe more Tiger basketball, lol

Anyway I was glad they won and don't see how a fan could feel differently about the result.

Happy. Wouldn't have been sad if we had lost though. Just apathy, I guess. Sad that we still have no idea what an offense or a screen is. Dedric is talented, but plays a lot of driveway basketball style, which results in a lot of turnovers.

You are correct. Sadly.

6 years after taking over with 4 scholarship players, Pastner has won 72% of his games. Won 150 games in 209 as Calipari needed 210. He has won over 20 games per year and has averaged 25 per year. He has won 2 Conference championships and 3 conf tournament championships. He has been to the NCAA in 4 of the 5 years he should be held accountable (leaving out his first year). He has graduated all the players who didn't transfer and at least 2 of those who did.

There have been ZERO off the court issues, and his players conduct themselves well and have been upstanding citizens. ZERO NCAA troubles, ZERO banners removed, and ZERO games vacated.

He has recruited in the Top 15 overall with this current class ranked 12th.

Yet, the "miserables'" highest and holiest purpose in life is to disparage Pastner....as they long for the messiness and ethical shortcomings of the Calipari/Pearl model.

Mind boggling to anyone who has ethical standards and holds The University of Memphis out as a standard of aspiration and achievement.
