I'm torn...I kinda want USM in the NOLA bowl for obvious reasons like proximity/food/drinks....we'd bring about 15-20k fans.....downside is playing a Sun-Belt team. Strictly speaking from the fan perspective...I'd rather play a P5 school (for recruiting purposes). Getting to play P5 teams in bowl games means a lot to prospective recruits.

I personally would like for us to play in the HOD bowl in Dallas vs. a PAC12 team like Cal or Washington (since the B12 may have a deficit # of bowl eligible teams w/ their tie-ins). A Southern Miss/California game would be a great re-match from that '03 game in Hattiesburg when they came in ranked like #3 or something like that and we lost by a few points. I think we'd bring at least 5-7k fans there. I imagine the bowl payout is the best in conference USA right?

Another bowl I'd like to see us play in is the Independence Bowl. Apparently there were Indy Bowl reps at the Rice game to watch. If a few things go our way, we could be playing in that bowl vs. Miami/Louisville/NC State/Va Tech/Duke-type team. Plus, we'd bring probably about 8k fans.


ESPN Predicts us playing San Jose State in the NOLA bowl or East Carolina in the HOD Dallas bowl.

SBNation predicts us playing Washington in HOD Bowl

CBS Sports predicts us playing Ark. State in NOLA Bowl.

Orlando Sentinel predicts us playing TEXAS in the HOD Bowl.
If this were to happen, then we'd be bringing about 20k fans.

Independence Bowl. It's got a decent opponent, close drive, and name recognition over any other bowl we're tied to.

I want to play the best opponent possible. Obviously would love for music city bowl but I know that wouldn't happen

#1 St. Pete bowl- I have a house in Tampa
#2 HoD - Any chance to make it to Texas is a win
#3 N.O. - easy drive from Pcola

For me, since I can't do the Bahamas, would be the NOB. Love the city. It's on a Saturday. It's driveable. I think for that to happen we would have to do some swapping. We would need USM/Latech to fill the Indy and HOD. Then we would have to find someone for the Bahamas. If we can't get NOB than I hope we get the Bahamas as a treat for the players.

New Orleans Bowl because it will revitalize a fanbase that has been down on ourselves since mid-season. Most MT football fans recall NOLA Bowl 09 as one of their most cherished football memories, myself included. The opportunity to do that again would excite alot of people - who cares who the opponent is.

First we have to win out and even then, its a very small chance but:

WKU vs Florida in the Peach Bowl would be unreal.

Living in the Atlanta area and going down to the Georgia dome to beat Florida would be a great day.

And yes FAU should have beat them if the refs didn't swollow their whistles for the SEC homer school

Any Bowl assuming we get to 6 wins by my preference is somewhere our fanbase can travel well something in FL or if in future a miracle bowl that happens in the states of VA, MD, WV, NC, SC, PA, NJ

MTowho is on the money for most fans. As an MT alum who also attended the NO Bowl in '09; I can testify it ranked up there with the MT victory over Kentucky in MBB back in the 80's. But, I'm not picky. I've been to all 4 of our FBS Bowls, and no matter where we go I want to be at No. 5!

Independence Bowl against a decent ACC opponent would be amazing! Anything in the Central timezone is a blessing in my book!

HOD Bowl vs Pac 12 school

It's not likely we get into the Peach Bowl, so my vote is Miami Beach Bowl against a ranked AAC opponent.
