Parrish says we could be a tournament team
Gotta win 2 out of 3 vs Ohio St, Ole Miss and South Carolina. Then hope Tulsa, Cincy, UConn and SMU do well in their OOC games.

The talent for sure is there - whether it gets developed is another matter.

Also said we've surprised a lot of folks so far (in a good way) with how hard we've played and the apparent acceptance that we are not a half court team.

Said we could potentially look up in March and conclude that AN leaving was a good thing because it meant not being forced to try to run the offense through AN in the half court (both because he was our best player so we felt like doing so was our best hope and because he's not athletic enough to play the style we are playing this season).

Maybe the committee won't screw us and put us in a bracket with Izzo or Bennett this time.

Or any other good bench coach

If it does, thank God we got Damon Stoudamire and Daddy Lawson.
If it does not, we blame JP.

Correct?

I was definitely proud of how they played the other day. Effort like that and we sure should be in.

This post comes from ignorance. Any coach in the nation would take AN in a heartbeat this season or next including JP. We would definitely be a tourney team with him. Don't have to slow to a crawl or run half court every time to use a players with his skills. Everytime i read something along these lines just remember: we have played 2 games and AN is a very good player (like him or not).

What I like about this board is everybody's all meshed in together... sharing their opinions and rocking out... regardless of gender color or creed...It's just like the Left Coast where the agro-hippies and the peace&love hippies all talk their talks together... and you can't tell the girls from the boys.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I was up to date on what 'good fans' should think.

I have said this for some time. Hoopdreams has consistently put forth a clear rationale that Memphis has more talent than most every team the Tigers will play.

Sadly, just look at the prediction thread. The good posters are the one's that predicted Memphis to fall short.

Austin Nichols at Center on this team would have been a good thing offensively...Defensively he still would have been a liability

Hmm, I wonder what the reason could be for that discrepancy? 04-cheers
