Would a 2-loss P5 get into the CFP over a 13-0 Houston?
Would they? I think they probably would, sadly.

Our team is getting pretty depleted with injuries, basically playing all freshman OL lineman now, and we lost our #2 running back last week with a broken collar bone, plus lost our All American Corner got hURT last week as well, and is out at least 1-2 weeks. So to answer your question No!

So what you're saying is 13-0 is looking highly unlikely.

Most of them would. Just like a 2 loss P5 would get in over a 1 loss Baylor. You have to schedule tougher in the OOC. Houston's SOS on WarrenNolan right now is 122. There's only 128 schools on the list.

Unfortunately, I don't think so either. Slim to none but much closer to none.
CFP is controlled by the P5 and outsiders aren't welcome. Just listen to their justifications for some of the rankings.

No. But the committee looks at injuries as well as other things. Were missing about 8 starters.

I imagine Houston's SOS will go up tremendously once they play Memphis, Navy, and Temple (CCG).

You didn't answer the question.
Possibly is my response. UH would have wins over a potentially 8-4 Louisville team with nothing but good losses. They'd have one over possibly 8-4 Cincy, which also has nothing but good losses. And they'd have one over possibly three 10-win teams or maybe two 10-win teams and a 9-3 team, all of whom have good wins and could be ranked.
It'd be a crime for the committee not to look at UH with that kind of resume.

So far houston hasnt even passed MY eye test. Luckily we still have a couple more chances to see. As of right now, no I don't think we look like a playoff team.
If we had beaten UC and Louisville by 21 plus, I would say so.

we would have likely beaten cincy by 21 or more if not for the phantom pi call that completely changed the game
and cincy only came back because jackson was injured and gunner kept targeting the freshmen db that replaced him ..jackson will likely be back in 2 weeks
an clemson the #1 team in the nation only beat louisville by 3 aswelll

My guess is probably no.
We had this discussion about Memphis and figured that even if Memphis went 13-0 and olemiss went 11-2 and won the SEC that Memphis would still likely be shut out of the playoff.
While the Louisville win was good, it is nowhere near as good as a win over an 11-2 SEC champ.

A 3 loss P5 team would get in over Houston. They won't let a G5 into the playoff, no matter how deserving they may be.

Get the hell out. If Houston finishes with three Top 25 wins in the last 4 games, no 3 loss team will be ranked ahead of us.

That's like saying UCF doesn't get in the CFP over ECU

It's a rigged game run by a corrupt system. Object is to keep all the money in the P5. No way the CFP committee (which is staffed by P5 personnel) will allow any G5 team to participate in the playoffs. Not without the threat of litigation anyways.

^^^They dont want a G5 in the playoff.
In hoops everyone loves when David slays Goliath. In football they hate the Davids...not sure why but its just the way it is.
