Out of the Frying Pan into the ....
Prior to last week, CMU was the one game I was worried about. I was looking at CMU's stats, and this game could be a nightmare. CMU is 9th against the run, 19th in passing yards allowed, and 20th in total defense. They don't run the ball but are 21st in passing offense. Hoping for a big rebound. They will need all of the Toledo Tough they can carry to Central.

Kent was playing dominant run defense, too.

Today when I looked at it, it said they were 31st against the run. I'm not sure what I was looking at the first time.

Out of the last 4 games, CMU was the "one" you were worried about? That one was the least of my worries, but I think they very well may be capable of beating us, especially after last week.

Another team that will try to jam the box against UT. The Rockets must be able to run the FB and pressure Rush.

It worried me because it seemed hidden between NIU and BGSU. Sort of a trap game. Last week's loss took care of that.

Before the start of the season my feeling was that this was the year UT broke the NIU streak, but also the year that BG broke the UT streak as well. At this point I just hope that I was totally wrong and not half right.

Although I realized that any of the last 4 teams on the regular season schedule had a chance to beat the Rockets if UT didn't take care of business, before the NIU game I had the threat for a loss from these 4 prioritized (from greatest to least threat) as 1. BG, 2. WMU (who I picked to win the MACC before the season began), 3. NIU and 4. CMU.

The CMU game is on the road so that's not easy. But will 13,000 fans make us tremble? We've been in scarier environments. They couldnt close against the good teams they played like Oklahoma State and Syracuse. NIU played how we did last week against them....And CMU went toe up with a solid WMU team. 23-21 win over Ball State doesn't tell much. Neither does 14-10 win over Akron. Their D is pretty stout... Cooper Rush is good. We usually get the best out of our guys against the chips though. At least enough to win by a couple score's.

We will flat out lose if we play dropsies and interceptions galore on offense again. If our DB's get torched... The same will happen.

I think we win 31-17 in a hard fought, smash mouth football game. Winning the turnover batlle 2 to 1.

You don't play well against NIU the same as NIU doesn't play well against CMU. During NIU game, it was raining and Drew Hare fumbled 5 times, losing 3, without being hit. And many of those were in our territory. CMU didn't fumble once. Win the turnovers and play better than you did against us and this should be a 2 td win. Although, I am basing that on watching you a couple times this year and CMU once.

I don't understand how CMU beats NIU by 10 and literally gets crapped on for it. You lost the game. My god. NIU fans act like the game shouldn't count and take credit away by saying "we gave the game away". Ok well we won by 10 points. Let it be.

I'm not even saying CMU is better than NIU, I'm just saying move on and stop complaining.

I think you are reading way too much into that comment. NIU didnt play well, gave the ball away too many times. CMU played well and didn't make mistakes and won. That's not taking anything away from CMU'S win or making excuses, it's just what happened.

If NIU plays well, they beat CMU IMO. I think CMU is the 4th best team in the West. Just a gut feeling. If we lose, I will flop Toledo for the 4th best team in the West. CMU's crossovers were the worst, and they went 1-3 OOC regardless of their tough opponents.

Toledo does a good job of making themselves tremble. I don't think Candle is doing a good job as OC. The passing game is getting worse, and nothing was done in the 2nd half to spread defenders side to side (NIU did it to Toledo). It was like there was plan A and then nothing. Kind of sad given they had a week and a half to get ready.

Well no, NIU had worse crossovers than CMU. And that is ridiculous in my eyes...CMU and NIU are 4-1 in the MAC while CMU beat NIU....yet they are worse?

UT has the same record as NIU and lost to them, but UT is better than NIU? That is ass backwards man come on.

I don't think there is a single ranking that has NIU currently ranked higher Toledo. If there is one, please direct me to it. Until then: UT is better than NIU.

If OOC doesn't matter, then sure NIU and CMU should be currently ranked above Toledo 03-drunk

CMU has already had their crossovers, while NIU has played 1. CMU escaped playing BG who Toledo and WMU will play. Basically playing the east means squat unless you draw BG.
