RE: CSEB Game thread.
That's the kind of start we needed this year. It's unfortunate that the starters didn't do a ton, but I love the depth we have. I'm glad to see Sullivan appears to have progressed, I had really high hopes for him. Our depth is going to be a huge benefit this year. That is something we have lacked under Haase for various reasons.

Bench doesn't have to stay the same every game. Also, I'm really glad the starting lineup didn't include 3 bigs right now. If that's something we experiment with id rather it be during a game that's already in hand.

Watching on Blazervision, they were kind of washed out. But that may be the new lights and the high quality video production of Blazervision. They looked good when they showed them close up

Observations:

Lewis Sullivan is ready to play this year.

Thomas Smallwood, not so much. He spent his entire first possession, 20+ seconds, in the lane but the geriatric refs didn't notice.

Irk Williams can really catch-and-shoot. He has no D.

Tosin Mehinti has improved that mid-range jumper. Solid from 15 ft in. I didn't recognize Sullivan at first! He has really increased his upper body. First thing I noticed when we came out on the court is how much "thicker" the team looked (except Smallwood) Corey has really bulked them up.Dirk Williams is NOT afraid to put it up and has a sweet stroke.

We are a solid 10-deep team.

Obviously we are deep. Great news incase somebody's off, everybody won't be. I'd missed that we had looked bad against miss st in practice game. Wonder how bad we lost that game.

A bammer I sort of know, who follows HS basketball, swore that Sullivan had the highest ceiling in Alabama that year, better than Lee or the guys who went to UAT. Would be cool if he were right.

I never know what to take from games like this, but what I saw was mostly a clean, sharp, disciplined, cohesive team out there.

Granted they were playing the Washington Generals, but still.

Yeah, I've heard that from a couple people too.

RE: CSEB Game thread.
Didn't see any of the game, but just box score gazing:

Smallwood 4 fouls in 9 minutes? Seems like we are going to have to bring him on slowly.

Lewis Sullivan could be poised for a huge year. I wonder if he can play the SF position for us.

Norton has to be better than 1-4 from 3. Dirk Williams 4-5 is more like it.

What was wrong with Ha-Ha?

I don't know how many minutes Ha Ha finished with, but it seemed to me he just wasn't on the floor long. I thought Cokely was beastly.

Someone who was there or watched the game can correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like anything was *wrong* with haha. I think the starters in general weren't playing with the intensity that coach wanted. They were also tied 10-10 or so after a few minutes. Then the bench came in and played lights out, so it seemed like coach just rode with them for the most part..

I don't believe there is anything wrong with William Lee. He looked good to me. One exhibition game doesn't mean much.

RE: CSEB Game thread.
A telling quote from Haase
Quote: "The starters were trying to feel their way through things, but I thought our bench came in and played with a little more reckless abandonment."

We had ten players play over 15 minutes in the game. That is not likely to happen again. There are some players we saw a lot of last night that we won't see much of unless we are blowing people out.

Interesting that the crowd is listed as 3550. That has to be the most ever for an exhibition game since we moved to Bartow Arena.
