Announced in NC.....projected increases in rates. NCBCS up 32.5%, Aetna up 24%, United Health Care up 20%. Good work Democrats. Looks like my new bill will be pushing 850 per month. Outstanding. My damn insurance bill is closing in on my damn house payment. 03-banghead

Cue Dawg to try and baffle us with BS as to how wonderful this is.

No one ever said everyone would save money. That is a total misrepresentation.

It was based on the false narrative that people didn't have access to health care. In fact, for rural people, ACA has made access to health care harder. Anyone who knew anything about medicare and the number of doctors who won't see medicare patients would know that.

People didn't have insurance. That's different than health care. There were lots of options for those who couldn't pay.

Maybe its relieved some stress on our urban public hospitals who were taking many of the uncovered before.

Fit that's horseshit and you know it.

The AAC was a gift to insurance companies and little more. I know a few people it helped that weren't able to get insurance before d7e to pre existing conditions, but most people definitely did not benefit.

From the horse's mouth:

and this was just one of many times that reduction in premiums was promised. His pants must be on perpetual burn.

BS. Lowering costs was one of the keystone pitches of this lousy piece of legislation. That assumption was either totally wrong..or as I believe..I bald faced lie to the American public. Those of us that have to foot the total bill for our insurance have seen NO reduction in cost and are left reducing benefits to hold down costs. I am now faced with making a critical decision this year. I refuse to pay over 800 dollars a month for insurance that I might use 3 times. I am now forced to purchase the worst and lowest cost plan available and take my chances. Im going to just put the difference in savings to cover expenses. These plans pay nothing. They are simply catastrophic polices. You have to damn near die for them to pay anything.

The ACA was never about health care but the consequences of it has made my health care worse...not better.

He has done a number on us with regard to health insurance/care. Roughly the same amount of money that came out of my paycheck 4 years ago bought me a co-pay of $15, ER co-pay of $50, RX co-pay of $10 on generics/$25 on brand and no deductible. If we went to the doctor the bill was paid and we went when we needed to go.

Fast forward to this year my co-pays have stayed roughly the same but I now have a $4000 deductible an a very limited network. For two of us in decent health, we end up getting nothing covered over the course of the year. It's all out of our pocket, so every time a health issue comes up we have to think about whether or not to go and get it checked out.

I'm sure we aren't the only ones putting off care because it isn't covered. A small portion of people like us opting to wait and see when issues arise will have something seriously wrong that due to the delay will become more serious.

But hey all of you guys can get an annual pap smear so we've got that covered.

The biggest waste in the system is lawyers. But the Democrats won't touch their biggest donors.

I've covered this before, but these statements were made based on analysis of the health care plan he was pushing for when running for President. It's nowhere near what the end product ended up being after Congress got done with it.

And yes, the ACA was mainly a gift to big insurance. To deny otherwise is not being honest.

Partly...yes. The blue dogs made it really hard to get what Obama wanted...so he caved on quite a bit to get it through.

So Obama couldn't even get his own party to pass his bill. Competence right there I tell ya. What are the differences between the plan Obama was talking about and what the democrats passed?

That's ridiculous. Thank God at least one party isn't in complete lock-step on everything like the R's are. Not that there much better on the whole than the R's, but...

Given there are about 1000 Repub candidates for POTUS, hard to say the Repubs are in lockstep about anything.
