Proves to me that it's REALLY REALLY easy to recruit at LSU. Well, that and that the guy that replaced LP was chosen the Recruiter of the Year again.

IMO, your post is a bit unfair to Coach Porter. Remember that he was recruiting against other elite schools for elite players. It is not easy beating out teams like FL, AL, etc as Coach DiNardo and other failed LSU coaches discovered.

YEP and YEP!

Heck, Justin might win the Recruiter of the Year award at Memphis

Since there's not much info on Lynch, here is a thread regarding on Gators recruiting board re: the 2 QBs they were recruiting, including Lynch.

These are fans' comments, so take them as such, but they are interesting none the less:

Bottom line is he is coming off a rather serious injury but has some good size and some talent. But he's likely a kid that will have to sit for 2-3 years before he can play even at the CUSA level.

Fuente taking 3 QBs (counting Karam) is very interesting. We've got needs everywhere though.

He's ready to play. He player in the last couple games last year. Then also consider that he got to play in the allstar game even though he missed most o the season and Im sure there were kids with much better numbers. That's must have been a sign of respect from his junior year. Look its no way you can watch his highlight video and not be super impressed. I mean imagine a Ryan Williams that can run. Dont forget that he didn't have great offers either. Lastly any kid that's getting serious consideration from the Florida staff for a offer is most defendantly good enough to play here.

Highly doubt Florida or USF will offer. 1 to 1 TD to Pick ratio NOT impressive. Only 1087 passing yards for the year.

He was out hurt most of the year. Hence he's a sleeper. The kid has a big time arm and great size. It's a good pick up if it sticks.

I am not dogging the kid, and I agree that Florida's sincere interest is a good gauge of his talent. Much better than anyone on here watching his highlight tape. That said, there's a reason that he doesn't have any offers other than Indiana and FAMU, right?

Let me reiterate that I don't think he's a bad pickup.

What are you basing your assessment on? It's not like Akron got a commit and passed on him.

Simply basing it on the fact that he is coming off an injury that didn't allow him to play much of his senior year, which puts him behind developmentally. See the Rivals writeup about his throwing motion, etc. Also, his offer list (IU, FAMU) indicates to me that most of college football feels he is far from being ready to play.

In other words you don't have any substantive information to back up what you are saying. Isn't this what you accuse T C of doing?

My information (injury, Rivals writeup about his mechanics, offer list) is simply factual. Good try though.

not a serious injury, really a rivals write up that is straight up TC, the only thing you have is the offer list and has a bcs offer and the florida staff was deciding between him and one other person to be their future

RE: Florida QB Paxton Lynch commits to memphis
The signing of Lynch is bigtime, considering that Florida was gonna offer him if their top target had said no. Lynch chose us over Indiana which is a Big Ten (12) school and that says alot about our staff for being able to sell the program to recruits.

Lynch is big with a strong arm who is very agile and quick for a kid at 6-5 225 lbs.

Our QB depth will be heavily upgraded with this signing and the addition of Karam and the return of Reed and Summerlin. If you saw halftime last night, JF raved about Karam's adjustments to the program already. He seems really high on the kid and pointed out that anyone who can graduate in 2.5 years has gotta be pretty intelligent.

Despite losing out on our #1 target Dawson, this is still an impressive late signing class for a first year head coach to one of the bottom tier programs of all of D1 football in 2011,. It should be a sign of good things to come for the class of 2013. 04-cheers

Wait so you are saying missing 5-6 weeks of football puts you behind developmentally...Throwing motion...There are a few QBs in the NFL who have non-traditional throwing motions also...And are you seriously going to lean on a rivals article from the same people who you put zero stock in their evaluation abilities.

Dude you are looking for negatives, that is why you are finding them. But that is what trolls do.
