okay, cool. while I do follow this thread I really don't know a lot about the actual ability of most of these guys until I see them suit up and play for us.

How many years does Kah have left?
Not to look ahead, but next season's roster so far looks like:
PG: Caver, Evans
SG: Stith, Mosley, Green, Haynes
SF: Talley, Baker, Carver
PF: Taylor, Colbert, Vassor
C: Stith, Kah, Porter
the year after (2017) we'll have everybody back except Mosley, Taylor and Baker right?
If Talley doesn't pan out is there a scenario where the younger stith plays SF?
Correct.
I don't know how the roster dynamics will look a couple of years from now. I haven't gotten to see either the Stiths or Talley play yet. Looking at just height, then Stith could probably play SF, but I'd prefer to have his talents on the wing. Green and Haynes could also make a case for being at SF, if needed since they're 6'5" and 6'4" respectively.

Basketball changed a few years ago. Coaches get as many skilled offensive players on the floor as possible irregardless of their height.
Duke won the national title with Justise Winslow playing power forward at 6'4.

Why can't he transfer in January and practice with the team and hit the weight room?

its either an eligibility issue (he used a year already sitting out) and/or his commitment to ODU hinges on him having credits through the spring semester. those are my guesses.

What are you talking about? He has two years left.
Played last year
Playing this year
That means two years left to play at ODU

this is what I'm referring to from Ed Miller's article:
" Kah sat out a season at Central Florida College and played last year at Kilgore. He has one season remaining there, and will have two at ODU."
you're right, 2 years at ODU. I assumed that one year at CFC might have some kind of impact to his eligibility (maybe it does not)...the question was why can't he transfer in the spring and get here earlier. I'm not sure how that would benefit him from an eligibility standpoint.

You may be correct about the center position but don't be surprised if we see Stith, Kah, and Porter on the floor together quite a bit.

Awesome news.
We are competing against the big boys and in some cases actually winning.
Love the forward momentum of the program right now.
I think many of our fans really started to question what BT was doing when we were recruiting against the likes of kennesaw state, longwood and hampton for players.
Regardless of how these players turn out, it's just good to see a staff with the confidence to pursue players of this caliber and win some battles against them as well.
It's a far cry from the dark years. Great job coach jones and staff.

Absolutely! Just a few years ago we hit rock bottom. The rise has been quicker than anyone expected. It's hard to believe the momentum this team has built in such a short time.

I like the fact that Jones is not afraid to hit the JUCO route, transfer route, and graduate transfer route. It has made the turn around in the program quicker than expected.

That is correct. WS was on w/Cattles today and they were talking about how limiting JJ's recovery was for him in terms of recruiting travel. The entire staff did a great job facilitating landing these kids, especially in light of that. Of course JJ was here when they visited to seal the deal.

I know might be a tall order (no pun intended) but I would like to see the staff land a Freshman big in 2017. This staff has been killing it and have exceed many of our expectations. I think this puts to rest the question of can JJ recruit ! We are headed in the right direction !

JJ's first and most important recruiting job was assembling his coaching staff. I think people often overlook the team behind the team. Without a solid foundation there, the rest is futile. They've proven there worth in coaching, player development and most certainly in recruiting.

It's great to see all the round ball guys this excited. I tend to sit back and take my cue from your comments. At this point, you have Aggie pretty darn excited about round ball both this year and in the future. Can't wait to see this team on the court this year, and see who else we have becoming Monarchs in the years to come.

The buzz is palpable, excitement abounds. As the leaves fall we hear a familiar and welcomed sound of a round ball bouncing and a net swooshing to signify a completed bucket.
A pack of Monarchs have ascended to their rightful Thrones, ready and positioned to rule with an iron scepter.
Hello friends, Jim Nantz here welcoming you to another season of college basketball.
Edit: I hope that was cheesy enough...
