RE: Tickets sold for GS and APP
I visited in '94, '96 (my favorite trip), and '06.
I liked Savannah. Hated the gnats. Can't get the wife to go back, almost went on the App charter with some buddies for last years game, but work got in the way. But that would have been a fly down, land at 6:00, watch the game, wheels up ASAP after the game.

Per the App ticket office, still 2853 available tickets for sale. Only 1 ticket available for the game on Stub Hub. Appears that 108, 109, 208, and 209 are primarily for GaSo. I'm in 210, so we can throw stuff at each other.

Pretty sure i'm in 110. Looking at the seating chart now, it's a good thing i'm the driver for this one.

If you gave every SBC fanbase the choice of traveling to Boone or Statesboro in October I think we all know the results.
You have biased viewpoint though. Not everyone is going to want to go to the middle of the mountains in October like you imply. It all depends on what you prefer.
Boone has the mountains and cabins and mountain scenery and maybe skiing. The weather is cold and air is dryer.
Statesboro has the Georgia Coast and beaches and water parks and Savannah and Tybee with great nightlife. The weather is warmer and a little more humid in october.
Saying everyone is going to come to the mountains over the beach isn't true. Boone isn't some fantastic travel destination that people flock to like most App state fans claim and Statesboro isn't some poor farming town stuck in the middle of no where, it's metro Savannah.
Man, you are so wrong about Boone because it actually IS a fantastic travel destination that people flock to, and October is a peak time of year but they come for all four seasons, enjoying unbelievable beauty and endless outdoor recreation. I believe the 12 - 15 million people who visit the NC mountains each year will agree, and the $1 billion economic benefit each year certainly tells a story.
If you haven't been, please do come visit sometime and you'll see very quickly what all the fuss is about...
Ok but 12-15 million people don't visit Boone, NC they visit the North Carolina Mountains which is far more than Boone. If we were going to talk like that, I could say that Statesboro is a tourist destination because 14 million people a year visit the Georgia Coast.
The point is still the same because Boone absolutely is a fantastic destination that people do indeed flock to. I was there on Sunday and the town was packed and vibrant. The leaf viewing season is in its peak and so the whole area around Boone was busy with people enjoying beautiful scenery and perfect weather. If you don't believe me, try to get a hotel room in Boone during October, and it doesn't matter if there is a football game in town.
Also, you tried to lump Statesboro in with Savannah, which is a good hour away, and you tried to equate Statesboro with Coastal GA, which is 1.5 - 2 hours away. Using your logic, it seems appropriate.

I have some buddies in 111, may make my way down there in the 2nd half. I'm driving, too, have to work Friday morning in Charlotte...

There is plenty to do in all directions from roads leading into Statesboro. Even if the 'Boro was the dullest, most desolate place on Earth (it isn't), I'd go there as an opposing fan to watch my football team play.
Agree 100%. Believe I've only missed 3 of the 11 games in Statesboro. Some good times, a lot of bad times. Always entertaining times. Just gotta overlook the drunks and the loudmouths, they're everywhere. Never really had what I'd call a problem there.

I work in High Point so it's almost the same distance back to either place. I honestly need to take a look at my tickets to remember which section I am in. Should be a good time regardless.

Since when was an hour drive from the city still considered "metro?" When you come to Boone for the game you can stay in Boone. Almost anything else you would want to do is in Boone or just a short drive away.
Don't get me wrong, I had a blast staying in Savannah last year, but that's not where your school is located.
Well most people in the ATL metro area spend an hour in traffic getting home soo...
No Bulloch is not a suburb of Sav but the area is one of the if not the fastest growing in the country. I remember going to Pooler 15 years ago and it was a exit and race track now it is nice area that looks like a typical suburb of ATL.

If you look at the detail of each section there are less seats than the section overview indicates on the website. Also, the ticket site does not total General admission tickets. The Rock will be rocking for this one.

I've only been to gnatsboro twice, but neither time can I say anything out of the ordinary happened. I'm sure it has to some, but I'm sure some could say the same about Boone as well. Usually, I go by the adage, "don't start nothin', won't be nothin'".

I've developed a stigma that the Boro would be a dangerous place for me, of course some of that went away when I met a geo south fan at a restaurant the other day and he was quite cordial

Boone is a destination Mecca? It's for a bunch of beginner skiers/boarders that can't hack real slopes.

RE: Tickets sold for GS and APP
We've often stayed on Hilton Head for a long weekend and then made the drive to Statesboro for the game and back. Makes a great golf/beach/football vacation. I plan to do the same for the first time this year in Mobile for the SoAla game. Used to do it every other year for Citdogs in Charleston. Wife does get tired of me planning all our fall vacations around football road trips but I usually figure out a way to appease her on the trips such as tennis lessons, boat trips, spa day, whatever it takes to make the trip. Always enjoy the GaSo game in the Boro just not always the results.
Plan to use the same formula for Coastal in the future.

The wife is concerned about freezing her ass off on those frozen metal bleachers again this year. Any issue with bringing blankets in?
Also, will alcohol and charcoal grilling be allowed at the local high school parking lot?
One more thing...the biggest game of the year is tomorrow. Looking forward to another raucous KBS crowd and all the whistles from the missing teeth
