If that atmosphere and game didn't sell them, nothing will.

Beat me to it. I figured we probably rolled the dice and invited a ton of football recruits to the game. I'm sure nobody knows how it impacted any of them specifically, but does anyone know of any higher-profile/ranked recruits that we had in attendance?

RE: any info on fb recruits?
If I was a football recruit that is 1. From the area and 2. Being recruited by Memphis and I did NOT see the game in person or on TV.....I am not a serious recruit. This game had to be either a mind changer or reinforcer for a bunch of potential recruits. That crowd and how we played was something to behold. This was big time college football and most of the fans were in BLUE.

Sure it is, we don't have to ask anyone for permission to invite someone Old Miss is also recruiting. Now if you mean Ole Miss can't bring their recruits, then I agree.

Yes, only the home team can have recruits at a game.

Getting Baccus would be huge. Faster version of McManus.

On the same note as Fuente Leaving, look what he's doing with 0-3 star recruits. In this conference, think of what he can do with 3-4 star recruits with an occasional 5 star recruit. We'll own this league or B12. Hell we damn near own it now. That's got to be in the back of my head if I'm head coach. There's no doubt bigger names are calling, but here just as we all know, you can build something at the "Crossroads of America." He has to see what we've been seeing. :) The only jobs thrown out there that would worry me are USC and TX.

My crystal ball says Fuente isn't leaving.

A B12 invite (or secret promise) can't come soon enough.

I have no inside info but it appears to me something is in the works. Why? Porter tip Memphis' hand about the big B-12. In the mean time a earnest push was developed in doing everything possible to better Memphis' athletic facilities in particular the football side.

I have been a fan for over 40 years and I often wonder why we weren't doing more in football since football drives the athletic bus. We now see B-12's ADs and presidents openly stating the need for more members.

Kanas openly lobbied we would make a good addition in basketball and contracts were developed to play kanas and Oklahoma in either football or basketball. I don't believe these are coincidences.

We have now seen what happens when you actually have leaders who lead. This is not guarantee but I am so proud of what is taking place, I can hardly contain myself.

PS. TANGENT. I have emphatically stated you don't need a team with a bunch of 3-4-5 star players to succeed because there are players overlooked constantly by the so called prognosticators. Wow, walk-ons getting the job done, who would have thunk it!

Football is the ultimate team sport that require all of it's sums to function properly. Most every play is designed to score if everyone does their job. If, one person miss their assignment the PLAY will fall short of its goal and this applies to all phases of the game, it requires team work. Thank you for a real teacher/coach and for allowing me to be myself, that is all.

Keon Howard surpassed 10,000 career passing yards in Laurel's 62-14 win vs. Brookhaven this weekend. Howard made 22 of his 31 passes for 403 yards and six touchdowns.
