RE: UNH
Towson looked decent against JMU. I think all 4 of our remaining home games will be tough. Not that we are not capable of winning each one, but none are at the level of an Albany or Rhode Island. I hope we can retain the effort level we saw in the 2nd quarter on. My biggest fear is that we have proven we can be run on in significant chunks. Even Villanova moved the ball Saturday well on the ground.

Also, I am waiting for Rocco's update on Cluely. His toughness is significant. His long ball passing is an upgrade from what we have gotten the last few years. His short passing continues to be a struggle, but he is definitely working on it.

Posted it in the last thread. Against Nova:

Cluley on Standard Downs: 6-14, 78 yards, 42.9% completion, 5.57 YPA, 4 1st downs, 1 sack
Cluley on Passing Downs: 10-16, 191 yards, 62.5% completion, 11.93 YPA, 1 TD, 5 1st downs, 1 sack

For the season:

Cluley on Standard Downs: 44-75, 59% completion, 565 yards, 7.53 YPA, 4 TDs, 28 1st downs, 6 sacks
Cluley on Passing Downs: 37-72, 51% completion, 550 yards, 7.64 YPA, 4 TDs, 1 INT, 17 1st downs, 4 sacks

Contrast Cluley's toughness with Nova's QB being terrified of the pass rush. DHC's Pick-6 was due in no small part to Bednarwhatever seeing pressure in his face and just heaving it deep when it sure looked like he had a guy open in the flat. I can't remember seeing Cluley bail out like that these last two years.

I think DHC made a great play, but there was a big hit on the QB on that pass(not sure who to give credit to). I actually thought that play was the key one in the game. After that, we never looked back. Prior to that play, Villanova moved the ball very well against our defense and was running effectively on us. After that, the whole defense played much better.

It looks like a very soft ticket sale for this game since season ticket holders are being offered up to 4 free tickets. UNH always seems not to draw much local interest which is sad since they are always so good and the game has big time playoff ramifications, especially for The Tribe !

I will be late, I have to coach the 7-9 Azzurri against the Dutch Orange, kickoff is at 11:30. Lil B (or as we call him "post" because he seems to find the post in every game) will need to step up if we are to advance. If not, he may not see another scoop of Ice Cream till High School.

Mrs B will be at the lot early, to partake in tailgating and idle chit chat. She will probably sit with you and the Muppet grumpy old dudes, she finds that more entertaining then the game itself.

Glad to see Durant listed on the game notes for this week. Hope whatever happened up at Nova is something minor.

Doubt if any team in the CAA will make the playoff with 4 conference losses. The loser of this game can only lose one more game to make the playoffs IMO.

Stolen from the UNH board:

Looks like Goldrich with minimal practice time, and although is available is not scheduled to start the game.

Video was made last week, but only published yesterday, so, originally confused me, also.

Goldrich has had another week, and will start per UNH's student newspaper.

"Tuesday afternoon, a source close to the team told me Sean Goldrich is ready to go this week after missing the last two games with an ankle injury."

Thanks for clearing that up. I think we have the team to beat UNH with their #1 QB healthy, so I don't know how much difference it makes. It will be good to face someone like that to get experience for another top QB we face in a couple of weeks.

Last year the offensive game plan against UNH was hyper-conservative and gave W&M no shot at winning. Hopefully they open things up this year.

RE: UNH
Went through the stats to show what W&M's opponents have done this year. The W&M row is what W&M's opposite units have done this year- so under "Rush O", it's W&M's run D. Green is good, meaning W&M has done better than what its opponents have done on average, while red means W&M has underperformed. It's a simple way of adjusting for opponent without putting in a crazy amount of work.

The good news is that W&M's only below average in one category. The bad news is that UNH runs the ball really well. (The really bad news is how well JMU runs the ball but we have a few weeks before we panic about that game.)

RE: UNH
UNH's RB #27 is their leading rusher and receiver. Our LBs and DHC have something for him. Gotta nail their QB early and often giving him a Green & Gold welcome back party. Our players remember the choke slam we received at the hands of UNH last season and will be looking for some payback. We'll win this game by 20+ with another big game from our RB(s).

Let's hope Tribal is Nostradamus again. Hoping to go to 2-0 on the revenge tour. If we somehow can go 4-0 on that, we will be in the playoffs and likely in the CAA title race.
