I think there is a week or two from the end of championship week until the bowls really get started. I believe that would be our best chance, especially hosting for a semifinal game or something like that

That sounds like the deal right there. Second round games December 5th conflict with CCG's, but the 12th (QF's) is free except for Army/Navy and the 19th (SF's) should be clear but for our future bowl games.

problem is, and correct me if I'm wrong, that college gameday doesn't have shows those weeks as there aren't many games.

Army Navy Game for second year in a row is already confirmed, been that way since the beginning of the season, so that weekend is out. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com...navy-game/

Hate to be voice of reality, b/c it would be sweet.

If A&M beats Alabama Saturday, this is all moot, and Ole Miss is no-brainer for 10/24. But that game loses a lot of luster if A&M loses (which I think will happen).

That game would lose more luster if Ole Miss loses at Memphis, a realistic possibility.

I've been to GameDay before...it is very well done and one of the last things ESPN does right in my opinion.

Do they do a school 2 times in a season? If so, I could see the Florida St/Clemson game that weekend

I like the dream big mantra, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here.

Yep. App state and ndsu have shown that you must win at least three consecutive national titles to get any ESPN attention. Let's bump this thread once we've accomplished that.

Sportscenter was just at ndsu last weekend too. Not gameday, but a live broadcast of sportscenter in the Fargodome.
Their SID has a great relationship with ESPN and yes, ndsu and the town of Fargo are rumored to kiss some serious producer behind. They bring out the red carpet and make sure they don't regret their trips up their.
Even ndsu gets how athletics bolster their profile.

I got a response from the friend who works at gameday...

The friend confirmed three things...Bama needs to beat A&M this weekend, the producer is a JMU alum and JMU is on the radar and an option. The direct quote was that "JMU actually has a shot"...keep an eye out for Utah at USC and Clemson at Miami as the other possibilities for 10/24 (besides A&M/Ole Miss).

Cool to at least be in discussion! Go Dukes!

Very cool.

Based on that statement I will be rootin' for:

Memphis (v. Ole Miss)
Bama (@ A&M)
Notre Dame (v. USC)
Arizona State (@ Utah)
Boston College (@ Clemson) (Not happening)
Virginia Tech (@ Miami) (Only in this scenario do I hope for Chokie success)

In all honesty, if JMU is actually in the running versus those 3 games then, who knows, maybe there is a slimmer of a chance. Only the potential Ole Miss/A&M game is worthwhile since USC is now in a chaotic situation and at the end of the day Miami's non-campus stadium situation can't be Gameday's most ideal scenario.

Whatever, I'm rootin' as usual for the Dukes to win it.

If JMU is even being talked about, even as a backup backup backup plan, I think the more we tweet at and talk about this on social media, the better. It might not make a huge difference but even if they don't choose us, just seeing our fans talk about the possibility of getting game day on campus would really help improve the perception of JMU football and JMU athletics.

If there is one thing JMU fans, students, and alumni are good at its online polls and taking to social media. So let's do it!

Gameday is a perfect forum for #JMU2FBS signs. They will look good with the flyover banner! This would be great if it happens.

I would be stunned if they do USC with the dumpster fire going on there. And more stunned with Clemson Miami because they just went to Clemson and could very likely do FSU Clemson in November. Roll tide

So if we get them to come to the Richmond game- where do you put the set? I think Godwin would be nice but that's prime tailgate scene. Would rather put them at the Godwin bus area right by student entrance. You would get a nice student contingent right there w beautiful BFS back drop

In this HIGHLY unlikely scenario (despite all the scuttlebutt on here) there is no way that they would have them set up anywhere outside of Godwin facing the Duke Dog statue . Suffice to say that the Godwin lot donors would have to suck it up and cramp in a smaller space. Also, the set really isn't that big and we probably would only need room for two thousand people or so.

Completely agree. They really only need the Kid's Zone area for the setup and it would be by far the best atmosphere. As much as we all love the quad visuals, that's really no fun and the Godwin Field/P-Lot tailgate surroundings would give them a much bigger time feel.
