We've been outscored 80-49 in the first half this year. That can't happen against a team with a good defense like cMU.
2. Linebackers must stay disciplined
Fill gaps, get in the backfield, and don't allow RB's and TE's to make any big plays in the secondary.
3. Balanced attack on offense
I'm convinced we won't be able to win solely with our passing game. We need Franklin, and even Bogan probably, to have solid games. Which leads me to my next point..
4. Win the trenches
Run-blocking and pass protection. So important! Flipside... our D-line needs to stop the run and knock Rush on the ground.
5. Limit turnovers!
We all saw the NIU vs. CMU game. We can't afford to give them any gifts. Especially in a rivalry game.
I think the team with fewer turnovers will win. Rush is a great QB but he is good for throwing 1 INT a game. That may or may not be the difference depending on how WMU takes care of the football.
Two guys you won't have an answer for, turnovers notwithstanding, Franklin and Davis. Nobody in the MAC has an answer for either one of those dudes, if healthy.

IIRC, there were a few MAC teams including us who limited Franklin last year. Idk if he was healthy or not. And there were a few MAC teams who limited Davis as well. They are dynamic but they can be stopped obviously. Just like Titus Davis and Thomas Rawls for us last year. They were great, but they weren't great ever single game.

Yup.
WMU made Titus Davis and Rawls both look pedestrian last year in half-empty Kelly-Shorts. Of course, poor coaching from Enos probably had something to do with that, too (including the half-empty stadium). Bono won't make the same kind of mistakes.

Ut oh......
Nah, you're joking!! Right? RIGHT?!?
It's a rivalry, there are no keys to the game. So d@mn much can happen that shouldn't in a rivalry it isn't funny. Most of them for CMU over the years.
I was impressed by Bono's poise. One time in particular at half of the NIU game, CMU had a messup getting a play in and managing the clock, costing them a scoring chance, right before half. As he walked off and was giving his obligatory interview, he was of course was asked about what happened, he said, "yeah, we had a problem communicating, that one is one me".

I see that Bonos NFL experience has translated to a quicker transition to a college head coach than Flecks experience...... Bono is a doer.....he is at cmu to stay...or so it seems Im impressed to date with his first year........it takes a lot for me to say that .....I hate cmu.

Like your mancrush, we give Martin four or five years. Is 10-19 much better, really?

Actually, yeah. It means PJ's overall winning percentage is about twice that of Chuckie.
