Congrat's to WK on overcoming the odds and beating a very good Tech team. Up next, Indiana (we'll try to soften them up a bit for you Saturday night). Still got a tough row to hoe but two major hurdles cleared. 04-cheers

Yes please do! IU has a very good QB and RB, after those 2, not sure....

If I was an Nfl scout I'd be making sure Doughty didn't get away. He's the real McCoy, still better than Driskel.

Yeah, I don't get some of these draft projections.

He can make all the throws. He has enough size. He's obviously extremely talented and capable as a passer.

IMO, I think this will all filter out before it's all said and done and he's no worse than 2nd rounder and I personally won't be surprised if sneaks into the late first round even though no one has him that high on their board right now.

even though he's supposedly put on weight he has a very slender frame. not really built for taking an nfl beating. he can't/won't run at all. i love what he's achieved here but i'm not sold he has nfl ability. i hope you're right and he gets drafted. i don't know him personally but people who do tells me he's a fine young man. btw, he almost quit during petrino's season here. his mother HATES petrino. but i believe she's not the only person standing in that line.

RE: WKU vs La Tech opening line
Trying to think of who Doughy reminds me of in the NFL..Closest comparison I can come up with is Teddy Bridgewater....Both similar builds, Bridgewater does not run very well either but makes great decisions....Bridgewater got killed by the media in pre NFL draft workouts because his build, speed, strength was not combine worthy numbers......NOt saying Doughty is as talented as a thrower as Bridgewater, but he is not that far off.....Bridgewater is a future star in the NFL...So we will see if Doughty can be a poor mans Bridgewater, however I dont see him getting drafted before 3rd rounder due to the knock and bias the NFL has with a QB from non P5 unless you are 6-6 with a cannon for an arm....First thing first he has goals he wants to accomplish this season while at WKU...

Unless his measurables are misrepresented, I don't see that as an issue. The average height of an NFL QB is 6'3". He's there and that's far more important than weight. But if look at somone like Drew Brees who is a good three or four inches shorter and only weighs 210 lbs himself, I don't see that as a barrier. Now, if he actually only weighs in at 185 or something like that then it's a different story. But he looks bigger than that to me.

And the NFL generally likes QB's who won't run. I believe he fits the mold. We'll just have to see. He could make up some ground at the combine next year too.

I can see the Bridgewater comparison. Maybe not the exact same height/weight, but he reminds me of Alex Smith a little.

He's was maybe 6'1 and 205-210 last year when came to Tech. Driskel is considerably bigger. Thats going to be his biggest knock in the draft. But heck look at Drew Bres so he could still be successful in the NFL

he's always been 6'3. lmao at homie calling him 6'1. leon allen is 6'0 and deandre ferby is 6'1. brandon is clearly taller when they're in the huddle and then backfield.

his problem has been weight. he was 205 last year. at one of the press conferences this preseason the coaching staff was discussing how much weight everyone had put on and brandon said he was up to 220. said he had to eat like 8 times a day to get up to that weight. said in times past he'd just forget to eat. he won't have that problem when he gets older. he does look 220 now. he's a little thicker and his arms are a little more solid but he's still lanky looking.

Did you go measure him last season while he was on the field? He is probably more like 6-2 1/2....Comparing him to Brees height wise really? Brees is 5-10, huge difference there...

Homie stood 5' from him last year, you'll see at the combine. It is pretty common for schools to do that

But let me guess Tech wouldn't do that with Jeff Driskel? who's listed at 6-4.

Remember Johnny manziel being listed as 6 1" and then 6 0". At the combine he came in at 5'11" and some change.
Id be really surprised if Doughty comes in at true 6"3'. 6 2" I could see that. You have to consider hand size also. It is very important to scouts just not height

Here's the problem some are having...

since you or someone you know saw BD from 5 feet away last year and adjusted his height and weight...

I'm sure they been that close to Driskel so since one is listed at 6'3 and one at 6'4. What are you considering "considerably"? What no adjustment for Driskel?

I honestly don't know how tall or big either are but I've yet to see this adjustment for Driskel
