Distractions will do a team in every time. Rumors about GOL wanting to be the new AD.

Marshall fan dickriding a one point win by FIU is so sad.

All AAC, all the time on the cusa board.

No. Sad is writing statements like your worst team could beat the best of CUSA--losing the conference battle last year and your co-champs losing an opener to a weaker CUSA team. Sad is coming to the CUSA board touting the greatness of your tweenies, but not being ranked last year compared to a CUSA team. Sad is ignoring everything around you and believing some Tweenster fairy tale. That is very sad.

Marshall didn't have to dickride anything. Our record and ranking was better than all of your Tweenies last year. SAD!

Dude Marshall played absolutely no one of worth last season.

You mean like Tulane losing to LaLa?

The reality is that is not a huge difference and you couple that to being an in state game and it's going to be closer than many would think. FIU wants this game more right now

What I am saying is that even the lowest ranked team in this conference should have a higher talent level then the top team from C-USA. We are the far more superior conference and we should be beating all other G5 teams by at least three touchdowns.

UCF does have quite an edge in talent. Tulsa might have an equality argument though.

No way. We have a lot more talent than FAU... Or any other CUSA team I've seen for that matter... Bill Blankenship was just inept.

hahahahaha yeah ok CUSA highest rated G5, AAC was distant third

Wow, G5 on G5 violence is never pretty 04-chairshot I watched a lot of the game and FIU just flat out looked more fired up to win a Football game than UCF did. The FIU Defense flew to the ball and their Offense looks better. As the announcers pointed out they lost a lot of games last year by less than a TD so that 4-8 2014 record was deceiving.

I am guessing that if ECU had stayed behind in CUSA that we would have had more than a few fans over on this board chest thumping about that win over one of the defending AAC Champs so that is to be expected. Bottom line is there is not a whole lot seperating the G5 schools and if you take one lightly you will lose. O'Leary's management at the end of the game definitely reminded ECU fans of our loses last year when we snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.

It is a long season but UCF does not look as impressive as they have the last 3 years. No shame if they have a down year considering they are coming off Back to Back Championships, Fiesta Bowl victory, Top 10 finish etc..

There will always be a pecker measuring contest between the have nots/G5 schools and last night FIU won so they deserve to do some chest thumping. I just hope Cincinnati is as good as advertised and Temple has a break out year maybe even beating Penn St at home because we will need some positive stories this year.

Completely agree with you. Holman played good enough for us to win. It was the total lack of a running game and the fact that FIU absolutely destroyed us on both sides of the line.

They outplayed us the entire game and when we had that last drive moving well and looking like we were going to pull out the victory, the craptastic play calling gave the game the end it probably deserved.

Congrats FIU. Sorry to the rest of the conference and I hope the rest of you win your games this weekend. Would love for Temple to beat PSU tomorrow. 04-cheers

This. But what I do feel is ironic is a clearly bad UCF team lost by one point in week one when most are warming up on FCS teams and I'm seeing haters like I've never seen. People I didn't even know disliked us are coming in and making jokes.

Isn't FIU FCS? 03-wink

Gonna go ahead and own up to being completely wrong about UCF all offseason. We are bad. The offensive line is terrible. We embarrassed ourselves and the conference. This sucks. Talked a whole lot of s*** this offseason coming off back to back conference titles. I was completely wrong. We are rebuilding and we are not good this year. Its gonna be a long season. Trying to go through all 5 stages of depression and finally get to the acceptance part. Don't really wanna go too much into why we lost other than it was pretty obvious which team came to play and wanted to win. fiu wanted to win bad. when we missed the field goal at the end fiu's sideline looked like they just won the super bowl. It's a really sucky in state loss. Couldn't tell if they are just not a bad team or if we are just really that bad and made them look really good. Just thought I'd show up to eat all the crow that I deservedly have coming my way. Apologies from a depressed UCF fan. Whens basketball season? Oh wait, we suck at that too. Gonna be tough to be a UCF fan for the foreseeable future.

FIU is a better football team than they get credit for. They beat Louisville at home while 24 to 17, when Charlie Strong was at Louisville, on Fri, Sept 9, 2011. UCH just has to regroup and it was an out of conference loss. 07-coffee3

I have said all along the both FIU and FAU have great potential..simply by being in Fla. We all know the amount of talent in that state. IMO it looks like they have a pretty solid team this year. Im not particularly surprised by this loss. When you play a motived opponent in your own state very often you end up with emotion playing a large part in the game. UCF evidently did not come ready to play or match the emotion of the FIU squad.

It was going to be a hassle to find a place to display it next to an outlet anyway.

No chest thumping here. Just relief that we were finally able to cross the finish line.

This team finally has some mature leadership.

On to Indiana.
