Some worthless coach of a sport nobody cares about is mad at his conference when he should be bitching at his AD, and we get a 5 page hypothetical of what would happen if UConn moved their only good sport to a different league. I think the answer is SMU would have to schedule you out of conference in order to kick your butt (again).
Clearly some people care about it if 4,000 people are going to games.
People only don't care about it when your team sucks.
With the way soccer's popularity is growing, it wouldn't surprise me if many of the top tier schools average 5,000+ in the next decade.

They are some of the best Olympic sports in this conference. If we move them, it would be to the Big East. Why wouldn't we bring our basketball to the Big East then, too? (UConn to the Big East is what BE4Evah wants, so you are feeding him to create future posts like this)
Because football matters about 5X more than Bball and the AAC is going to take UConn FBall without BBall....and going indy is extremely difficult right now. I have my doubts whether any other conference is a legit option or a UConn FBall.
I bet the AAC would let UConn park its football here. Why? UConn still draws solid eyeballs for football on television even in down years due to having arguably the strongest brand in this conference (which is due to basketball success).
Let me know how replacing UConn with Charlotte or UAB works out for you in football.
Regarding "UConn still draws solid eyeballs for football on television".....How do you know for certain? As I've said on several posts before, If you play FBS football and you don't have 30K sitting in the standing on a Saturday NO ONE is watching you on TV. So let me ask, since I've never attended a UCONN game, what are UCONN's real FB attendance numbers? Not "pie-in -the-sky" figures published by the University, I mean actual people sitting in the stands watching the game. I bet the truth is not very impressive. Its comical how most schools in this Conference, located in large cities, act like there a hundreds of thousands of people at home watching the game on TV when there are 10-15K sitting in the stands. "Yeah, everyone is at home watching it on TV".....what a lie. Want proof of my theory.....Look at our TV contract. TV is a BUSINESS, they don't pay for lies.
If we want BIG MONEY on the next TV contract, start by filling your stadiums.
ECU fans like to tout stadium attendance since that is their main strong point. However, actual attendance has been on the decline for almost EVERY school in EVERY conference. That is the way it is in the HDTV era.
I am not talking about UConn fans "sitting at home and watching it on local TV". I am talking about when UConn is on a national broadcast.
Here is some viewership data from two years ago (the first AAC season) that I got from a quick google search (if you want more recent numbers and want to provide some concrete evidence instead of just your opinion, don't be a lazy ass - do some of your own homework).
http://www.goodbullhunting.com/2013/12/1...-final-sec
Average "per broadcast" viewership numbers:
UCF - 1,639,667
UConn - 1,013,250
Navy - 990,600
SMU - 868,000
USF - 743,333
Cincinnati - 531,750
Houston - 371,000
Tulsa - 355,200
ECU, Memphis, Temple, and Tulane didn't even make the top 88 teams.
So, the AAC is not going to let its nationally SECOND MOST WATCHED team in football keep its team here? I bet that ESPN would REQUIRE the Huskies remain after looking at these numbers.
I respect that ECU fills its stadium. However, If ECU "wants BIG MONEY on the next TV contract," start by getting a national following!!! To quote you, "TV is a BUSINESS, they don't pay for lies."

RE: UCONN soccer coach tears into AAC brethren
dear uconn fan that was from 2013 and was spiked by an abc game versus Michigan..which drew 6mil....
so keep in mind you had a 6mil game but your average was only 1 mil....in cause you are curious your other games were dreadfully rated including a game under 60k
most of your games last year were also just as bad....and before your homersim denial kicks in, they were watching for Michigan not uconn
temple will be our top team in ratings next year...and note its not because they are our most watched team but because they have ND and psu which will be on espn/abc respectively
but you can return to your delusional homerism if youd like

Everyone is correct in that UConn soccer has no reason to complain. We are one of the most successful schools at men's soccer and that should be enough for this former coach (link provided- are we all understanding the concept of providing data now?)

You are the living definition of "All Hat, No Cattle". All you do is spout your opinion as fact. Show me links to actual numbers from last year or zip your pie hole for good. Your act gets tiresome. All "blah blah blah" and no numbers to back it.
almost every uconn fan on this board is overly delusional and over defensive about any negative thing said about your football team, most of which are true.....id understand the over defensiveness/ insults if they were talking about your bball program, but stop being ridiculously crazy about whats the truth...we arent keeping uconn as a football only and giving you special treatment if you left to the big east..that is just a fact...we honestly wouldnt do that for any current member.get of your delusional high horse....

That football win over UConn was probably the high water mark for the SMU football program this decade! I hope you enjoyed your win.
As for hoop, talk to me when SMU doesn't flame out in the first weekend of the tournament!!!

UConn brings a great fanbase and eyeballs, true.
But you're delusional if you think the AAC would make an exception for UConn, when we wouldn't even do it for Boise.
UConn basketball is the most valuable asset UConn brings. The American wouldn't think twice about cutting your football program if you decided to compete in basketball elsewhere.

ok i get it now uconnhusky is just a delusional homer......point taken
the link was to show you the rating for the teams in detail....and what the average game looks like
you put a link that showed a general season average without any context of opponent, time or channel....and use that as facts as to why espn would force us to keep uconn football...
but clout my link are as ridiculous when it adds all the context and you can look at individual data of games....
im sure espn is just going to use a blind season averages because they are dumb like that....
and the sad part is that YOUR link clearly notes that it got its information from the links i posted
you can believe whatever you want... this encounter has shown you are beyond reason

Kentucky and South Carolina play men's soccer in CUSA. If two SEC schools do that it pretty much shows where soccer stands in the pecking order of college sports. I understand defending your team and sport, but the coach shouldn't be mad at the league.
