BIG XII in New Orleans
All ten AD are in New Orleans for two days of BIG XII meetings, instead of Dallas.

You can be sure Tulane is taking advantage.

Announcement imminent.

Yup. Be sure to take them to see that ginormous gym your BB team plays in. That'll impress them.

You can be sure Tulane is lucky to even be in this conference and should be sending bouquets to the teams that got the hell out of dodge.

Isn't UCF's AD/president the only reason Tulane even got in? I seem to recall he lobbied hard for Tulane and finally won over the others.

Been begging for it for years. Flew a banner over homecoming asking for him to be fired. He's a big part of the problem, but ultimately is the board's inability to recognize the value of athletics and get off their high horse student-athlete nonsense.

Yeah. It's the move that ultimately made San Diego St and Boise jump ship.

For those wondering, Big 12 ADs were meeting in New Orleans because of conference's tie-in with the Sugar Bowl.

Its too bad for Tulane that the B12 already has the Sugar Bowl tie in. They could sell the B12 on delivering it to them the same way Memphis got the AAC the Liberty Bowl.

RE: BIG XII in New Orleans
If only Tulane knew how to win football and basketball games every year and consistently be in the Top 25 we might have a chance of admission and with winning increased attendance. Many Tulane alumni and supporters have the deep pockets when important to come up with a $100m for any athletic physical plant upgrades or new construction that the Big 12 might require. Getting rid of both our current AD Rick Dickson and football coach if we have another losing season this upcoming season! If the above points that I made could ever come into fruition, the Big 12 would want to invite Tulane for these reasons (1) They would love to have a member in New Orleans ,a unique premier tourist destination city with its French Quarter, music and food. (2) Louisiana ,particularly southern Louisiana , is an unbelievable fertile recruiting area for football, basketball and even baseball. (3) Tulane is a prestigious highly ranked academic university and known across the nation and worldwide, particularly in Latin America. (4) Tulane has the option to use the Mercedes Benz Superdome for football and the Smoothie King Arena for basketball when a larger venue is needed. I think certain top officials from Texas and Oklahoma would like to have Tulane in the Big 12 if it could rise to Big 12 standards.

Regardless of how it panned out, we are here because we brought more to the table for this conference then say a Southern Miss, Marshall, Northern Illinois or whatever other crap school that was being discussed. You guys should be thanking us because without Tulane maybe one of those garbage schools would have gotten in. The AAC is better off with Tulane then without and if you do not see that then you are delusional.
