RE: UM @ FAU nearly sold out
A 100 percent growth of anything is the same as doubling it...... the words they used in June were 124percent growth.
So 124% of about 4k would be 8,500.
I said 10 cause the original article was from June I just went on what my ticket guys told
me a couple weeks ago.

I'm looking forward to this game and a sold out stadium. Should be a great atmosphere.

Lets say half of the extra tickets this year were cheap season tickets bought just so UM fans could get a seat that still leaves around 7k FAU fans with season tickets.
Throw in 7k in FAU students that's already 50 percent FAU fans.
That leaves 14k being sold to the rest. I have no idea how the rest has been sold broken, but I know as a season ticket holder me and my Buddy have purchased around 20 extra tickets alone that are 100 percent going to alum I know who are coming to town that weekend.

Also I know that 90 percent of UM's fan base attends some sort of community college.
Can they get their late night Friday classes off??

Students are not that prone to buy on the resale market.
UM cant get several thousand students to homes games let alone the one an hour and half away on a Friday night.

UM has a massive block of student tickets - I am a student and I've been getting emails hyping up the matchup. Fortunately my ticket is already ready, now they are $35+ I think. Almost everyone I know is going to the game. UM will have a huge portion of the crowd there. Ignoring your biased comments about our fan base, it's an away game. Our fans don't show up for home games but they come out of the woodwork for away games. Let's be honest. If Tennessee were to play at MT, we would probably sell 20,000 season tickets. Best indicator? Gameday. It should be a fun one. Go Canes!

RE: UM @ FAU nearly sold out
This is going to be a great game, even if we are not going to be competitive. I just hope that all the credit we have given Quez will finally pay off. UM has lost a lot of good players from last year's mediocre team (I am not saying they had mediocre players, I am saying they had a mediocre team). We certainly have a chance. I would think we have a 10%-15% chance to win that game.

But my actual prediction (which may change after I see FAU at Tulsa) is Miami 30 - FAU 17.

I'd say the chance is higher 25-33%. Depending on how we look against Bethune and how FAU looks against Tulsa, that could change. If we go back into the famous Al Golden playbook of using high school strategy plays against our opponents that aren't ranked then we will be in trouble. Can't wait to see the game. I have only passed by FAU stadium never been inside though it looks really nice.

The stadium is sure nice. it holds 30K but, from what I understand, it could be expanded to 60K (although I am not quite sure how)

The next month is the biggest month in Florida Atlantic University history. That week will be insane. That day will be unimaginable. The reaction to a victory is unfathomable.

UM @ FAU nearly sold out
Going to this game. Going with UM people. Should be a sell out. What percentage of sales are UM tickets?

Hopefully good many of season tickets are FAU fans bc I remember being season ticket holder for FIU the year they beat us. FIU attn had few butts in seats though they sold a ton of tickets. Hopefully ppl like what they see and go to all FAU games. That would be great for FAU to fill their stadium and have another good run.

No offense just saw a piece of Troy game on TV and looked empty . Guess I saw something different. It was suppose to have 16k in attn and I didn't see close to that.

RE: UM @ FAU nearly sold out
I understand what you are saying now, and yes, you are correct. That year, the Duke and UCF games were packed but the rest of the games were around 11-13k butts in seats though the announced attendance was way more (because of the season tkt package that had to be bought by ucf and duke fans). I thought you were referring to the UCF game itself, which was pretty full as you can see in the video.

Well, I'm not sure what to say. Our football programs both kinda suck. At least we're in the ACC?

Glad to hear you will be in attendance. Go Canes! I read a news article saying only a "significant portion" were, so I guess we'll have to see to be sure.

Just for context,
1)this was a Sunbelt Tuesday game,
2)the clip you show was at the end of the game, at 11:50 PM (again on a Tuesday).

Our attendance is unacceptable, I'm sure you could have found better clips to be smug with.

I googled FIU vs Troy 2011 and that came up. I was just stating there was a difference between our game and other games on schedule. My whole point was if you sellout your big game but don't get a pickup its in vain.. Our schools want to convert fans on the fence (who want to see UM but are not UM fans) and that's why we bring in the 'name' schools. Fans (on the fence) come for one game and stay for others. That is only way we can gain non alumni fans.

That is the same kind of goal I think we have in mind at MT for our Vanderbilt game. They have been terrible post-Franklin so a win would probably motivate a number of casual fans to come back.
