Jerome Couplin had an appendectomy and is now projected as somewhat of a long shot to make the team. PS is a possibility.

10 Tribe Players in NFL
Titans WR coach breaks down his players

"On Tre McBride: “He has a good skill-set, and he catches the ball really well. He just needs to tighten up on the details. In a lot of aspects he is raw. He is one of these self-made guys who made it on his own, nobody recruited him. So what he does is he reverts back to a lot of the stuff he did (in college) at William & Mary, but that is not what we want. He needs to do the details of what we want. But he is going to be fine. He is going to be a player in this league.”

I don't know if the order they listed players is a suggested depth chart, but seems to make sense with some of the comments made. Tre seems to be surrounded by some pretty good competition.

That is not a ringing endorsement for W&M. Just what the hell does that mean anyway?

Just because you coach in the NFL does not make you smart.

Think about what Tre was asked to do at W&M.

His bread and butter was out routes and run deep, we'll chuck it to you. There's no way #2 makes sense for Tre in the NFL.

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
I think that comment could be made by any pro coach about any college program. Kids that are better than the competeition at any level often get by with raw talent. Route running takes time and practice reps. How routes are run depends on how the offense is run and from what position. The good thing about being raw is that you can only get better. I think the comment about having a place in "this league" was a key indicator of his talent level.

Agree completely. Tre was a high school running back who did not have the benefit of a redshirt year at WM. He also had at least two (if not three) receivers coaches during his time. And it is also true that Tre never had the benefit of playing with a polished quarterback with great arm strength. As a result, Tre was asked to do different things than he would have in past years in our program. Each of these factors influenced his development, and in my opinion none reflect negatively either on Tre or on our football program. In my opinion, the key is that he has shown enough ability to play at the NFL level. The rest is up to him - how quickly can he adapt.

Valid points. One minor note, Tre was a receiver in HS, but in a run first/option based offense as I recall.

Reilly had three unassisted tackles for gains of 2 yds., 2 yds., and no gain. Had a chance to stop one yd. TD run but couldn't quite get runner down.

I didn't see the game, but the box score shows no receptions for McBride. One 3 yard punt return and one 29 yard kickoff return.

Can you believe Archer is 28 years-old? Where are the years going?

13 Titans caught passes in their game, but McBride wasn't one of them. Thirteen!

Did return a kickoff and punt, but for those who watched game is he on there as a receiver?

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
Tre was never targeted in the Titans game. He was in at WR quite a bit and did a lot of blocking. Was also on punt coverage and return teams even when not the deep return man.

Archer played well with a patchwork OL that was awful. He had no time and showed good field presence and vision along with his classic quick release. He got hit on nearly every play.
