Really?

It took about two minutes to find these numbers for HS PG, SG and CG since we have talked mostly about guards in this thread.

PG: 2 five star, four 4*, two mixed 3/4 star, five 3 star.

SG: one five star, 1 four star, one 3 star.

combo: two five star, two four star.

All of these are high school kids and have most of the top schools after them.

Josh has always had a lot offers on the table. Hedge your bets.

I don't know what he will sign for 2016 but this crowd will not be satisfied no matter the group.

Maybe I should have replaced "recruiting" with "signing"?

Just asking? but are we back to small ball again? Do we not recruit bigs or has the
brand been so bashed that no bigs will consider us, even the ones that asked to be
offered by Memphis. Boy we have surely sunk in the eyes of a lot of kids (Basketball wise I mean) Are kidding me Tulsa??? Tulsa????

Depends on your definition of bigs.

Is 6-8 220 a big? Or do you mean 6-11 240? Or both?

From what I can tell early, they're recruiting 2 JC bigs and about 8 HS bigs.

Just so I am clear - my point was every recruit seems to be slammed regardless since CJP is our head coach. I feel this recruit and visit deserves the benefit of the doubt as it could be someone that Damon wants to bring in. I think we are on the same page, just wanted to be clear.

We are in agreement. It seems some of the logic displayed on here by the Pastner bashers spreads out to the entire program and just paints a bad picture of what they determine to be a dying program. I am just trying to point out that there are some good elements in place, Damon being one of them. We just need to let him do his job and see what happens rather than bash everything associated with Memphis basketball. I find it self defeating and unnecessary.

Damon is not new to this regime. He has been part of it in the past. Unfortunately, until he shows he can do better, people are still going to be skeptical. He's also still a subordinate to a coach who has shown he cannot develop talent. I just have a hard time understanding after six years of sub par performance that skeptics are "bashers" or some other slanted moniker.

This is worse than Tic Price recruiting.

Memphis will lose Shaq, Tarrant, Kedren and Burrell (4 of the likely 5/6 top minutes guys) and a bunch of JUCOs waiting in the wings.

Fisher is the only Top 100 guy that has Memphis in consideration, right?

Good lord.

One can only hope Josh's Chenoa Douglass saves us some coin.

Atta boy. I knew you were a good Tiger fan.

Jucos never really work out very well. It's not a good sign we are offering so many jucos and have so many. One really good one every now again like a Geron Johnson is good but to have four and five is a bit much. I'm afraid the jig is up on Pastner and recruiting has no fallen way off. It was his only strength but now that kids know he can't coach and how dysfunctional the program is we are done with high level hs kids unless they are from the city. I will be shocked if Pastner lands another top fifty or even hundred recruit from outside the city. I guess we have to watch the program die right before our eyes. Please just take another job so we can settle on a buyout and move on from this nightmare already.

This is truly a stupid comment.

Pastner's recruiting since taking the job has been Top 25.....with highs after a big class and predictable drop offs as the crowded roster then affords less play time opportunity.

The Lawsons alone were a great recruiting class. Pastner is high a wide range of players' lists (J Fisher and the constant mentions from high-star prospects).

To many of you folks, facts never matter.

If the recruiting classes have been so good then why have we sucked so hard? Enlighten me please

Has nothing to do with Damon.
I can tell you this with 100% certainty, if Damon knew how bad it really was here before he took the job, he wouldn't have taken it.

The Lawson's aren't program changers either, especially with an inept coach

Saluqis forward visits Tigers

Southwest Tennessee Community College sophomore forward Jimario Rivers made an unofficial visit to Memphis this week and is considering the Tigers along with Ole Miss,Auburn, Arkansas, Missouri and Marquette.

“Memphis is one of the schools that’s coming after me the hardest. I like the program. I just haven’t made up my mind where I’m gonna go,” said Rivers, a 6-foot-8,195-pound small forward who averaged 10.3 points and 7.2 rebounds as an all-conference selection at SWTCC last season.

A Clarksville, Tennessee, product who played at Kenwood High, Rivers said he plans to make official visits to the five other schools he’s considering. He’ll have two years of eligibility at his next school.

Memphis is still looking for its first commitment for 2016.

“His upside is super huge,” SWTCC coach Jerry Nichols said of Rivers. “He’s got big hands. Runs the floor extremely well. A high-motor athlete who can finish and plays above the rim. His biggest strength is his big-time motor.”

I found this connected to his visit according to several tweets. Pastner: Tigers to play smaller, faster

I think Davis and Rivers would be two good players to start off the 2016 class.

They add size and versatility.
