Coaches poll released on Thursday
Just saw that the coaches poll release is set for Thursday. I'm assuming it's at noon. Guess Ohio St will be #1.

Stever20: Put Boise St. in the Peach Bowl.
Bill Hancock said that they'll send the G5 rep to the Peach because the Fiesta had them last year.

It's a likely. Not a guarantee.

While he said most likely, you know they won't put the G5 rep in the Fiesta twice.

There shouldn't be any polls until at least a game or two is played. Stupid and unfair.

how is it unfair. If TCU or Baylor had been undefeated last year, they are in the playoff. Period, no questions asked.

RE: Coaches poll released on Thursday
So...
Boise State is the only G5 in the "Top 25".
Other G5s receiving votes-
Air Force 5- MWC
LA Tech 5- CUSA
Marshall 4- C-USA
Utah State 4- MWC
Georgia Southern 2- Sun Belt
Central Florida 1- AAC
Cincinnati 1- AAC
The most important thing I take away from this is that the P5 don't really see a difference in the G5 conferences. Some of the AAC posters like to pound the chest and claim their conference is superior to the other G5s, but polls like this tell a different story.

OSU is a team without weaknesses (except maybe kicker) at least compared to the Big Ten. But believing their own press clippings and beating themselves? That's definitely the most effective way to ensure they don't repeat as champions.

Nice to see the lower ranked SEC teams legitimize the upper ranked teams. Hell, uk got a vote, the SEC is one tough conference.

Only Boise State and Florida State play none of the other teams on that list, Ohio State plays only one (Mich St) and everyone else on that list plays at least two of the others, so it's very unlikely they'll all be there in December.

Three of the top four in last year's preseason coaches poll made the playoff.

I'd say the most likely change is Baylor doesn't go to the playoffs, replaced by Oregon.
Orange Ohio St/Oregon
Cotton TCU/Alabama
Sugar Auburn/Baylor
Rose USC/Michigan St
Peach FSU/Boise St
Fiesta Notre Dame/Georgia
Thinking FSU would get Peach over Georgia just as the conference champion...

And those were 3 of the 6 P5 teams with 1 loss. And P5 champions.

RE: Coaches poll released on Thursday
That looks a lot like last years final poll.
No surprise that Arkansas and Tennessee made it into this year's top 25. They were my 2 choices for most improved teams this year.
Tenn might be scary good eventually, but its not clear if they are at level yet. They probably still have some growing pains to go through this year, but they will end up in the top 10 by 2016, I believe.

Assuming that Oregon, with a new QB, wins in week 2 at Michigan State, or rebounds from a loss in that game to win out like Ohio State did last year.

Why does Oklahoma get the Sugar Bowl slot? Does that assume that the selection committee throws the B12 a bone to make up for last year?

It's a contract bowl. If Baylor/TCU make playoffs, that spot then would go to a 3rd Big 12 team. Same thing with the SEC(Sugar), Big Ten/Pac 12(Rose).
