We're losing a player to a community college, right? Just wondering why.

Not unusual at all to see where our former players wind up. Wait till the season starts and the Birdsong discussions begin.

As far as Peak goes, did we ever find out why he left the team? He was just kind of lumped in with others who were announced as "not returning" Thought he did a decent job for a freshman, though he didn't fit Withers' cookie cutter mold for size (read height) at specific positions.

the fact that he played as a freshman and from what i heard from withers during press conferences, my impression was withers was pretty high on him. since we lost marlowe and defensive backs - this is definitely weird to me. i mean, he could definitely hit.

Just a guess that it could be academics. It wasn't playing time, as I'm sure he would have seen the field often being one of the few returning DBs with playing experience.

How much time do you spend here? This is more post worthy and relevant than 75% of the crap that's on here. And by crap I mean people's opinions, egos, and unfounded information from "sources", and that includes my own "book it".

If you don't think it's post-worthy, don't click. I think it's at least a point to note that much of our secondary and particularly our young talent back there is leaving.

Also you just sounds like a DB when you ask a question like that

RE: Aaron Peak
I keep getting more and more impressed with Coach Withers. Granted this may all be an attempt to pad his resume but I feel he is genuine in establishing the right kind of culture at JMU. It's refreshing in this age of coaches compromising themselves to keep players on their team at any cost.

We'll never be Florida State or Texas but I for one am glad we can balance an attempt at success with at least a pretense of decorum, and mitigate having our reputation dragged through the mud. I mean seriously, does a Texas degree come with a shower cap and loofah to scrub that constant film of disgust off your body?

RE: Aaron Peak
I seem to recall from last year, and I may be wrong or thinking of someone else, but I believe that Peak's playing time diminished
quite a bit as the season wore on. I seem to remember wondering where he was the last couple of games.

If I am incorrect please let me know.
