RE: The Madness has gone too far!
I think they just stopped the music while the G'l Lee was in mid jump. Waylon Jennings is saying somthin'. But they'll be back after a few commercials.

I don't think a new Dukes of Hazzard would make it, but the old one...will find syndication somewhere.

I remember it came back while I was in college. That was a good day. No idea if it's on anywhere now though.

CMT shows the Dukes quite often. If all the other networks pull it and theres a market for it, they'd be wise to show it.

Sponsors are probably afraid to be associated with it now.

You didn't miss anything. The only redeeming part of it was Waylon's theme song and even that was probably one of his poorer works. The show was stupid.

You are right. There were only two redeeming factors, Daisy and the song.

They even had a type of shorts named after her-Daisy Dukes.

RE: The Madness has gone too far!
My parents refused to allow me to watch it in their presence. They called it pure trash. I watched it anyway (what 12 year old boy wouldn't love that show). About 10 years ago, I saw an episode on one of the cable channels and watched an episode. Wow. it was pretty bad. My favorite was the fact that it was shot in the California desert, but it's supposed to be North Georgia.

On the other end of the spectrum regarding Southern themed TV is of course The Andy Griffith Show, arguably the greatest comedy in the history of television. It was suppose to be set in Piedmont NC and was filmed in California as well. It was a very different topography.

The show was on while I was in high school & college. I never watched it because it sucked.

It's still sad to see some more of our history and "culture" erased.

I didn't watch that show either. It all seemed to be the same from one episode to another.

I watched it because it was right in my wheelhouse as a ten year old.

That and Catherine Bach was certainly easy on the eyes.

Quote:“The Dukes of Hazzard” originally aired on CBS from 1979-85 and followed the adventures of cousins Bo Derek (John Schneider) and Luke Derek (Tom Wopat) who raced around town in their trusty stock car.

What retard wrote that article? Their last name was "Duke" not 'Derek".

P.S. This is Bo Derek...

I watched a few episodes or at least parts of a few. It was pretty bad. But you couldn't forget Barbara Bach.

Barbara was a Bond girl.

Yea, some shows don't really work for adults. This was one of them. The production values were horrid, the writing was bad, and the acting sucked. But to a 12 year old boy. It was awesome.
