The bird has Oregon eyes. Totally agree about the bird crest. should have had red in it and the "L" should have been a bit smaller and white.

That bird on the helmet and shoes is ugly. Other than that I don't really know what changed. I mean the numbering is different but whatever.

And those stupid backgrounds on the photos are awful. They've been using that for awhile now and it's still terrible. I know Miami had their adidas leak but you can't tell if they also have hideous cleats and helmets.

I'm for changing the "Birds with Teeth"...always thought that was just dumb...but the fact is since Adidas is paying UofL $8 Million a Year expect more and different unis.

I liked the bird....didn't care much for the L on the helmet....

It is, what it is...most schools have "whored" themselves out to the suppliers...I don't see it changing anytime soon.

That said this incarnation is all over the place...some I liked, some I laughed at the over the top cartoonish nature.

No, these are just the uni's we'll be wearing for the Chick-Fil-A kickoff game against Auburn, these won't be our regular uni's. Adidas said there will be about 5 different uni's this year. The bird-with-teeth logo has long been our logo, it won't be changing anytime soon.

I don't like the big 'L' on the front in front of a white bird but think it would look even worse with a red bird and while 'L'. Drop the bird and put the uniform number on front and it's fine. I don't have a problem with an 'L' on one side of the helmet and the alternative Cardinal on the other side.

Since this is just for the kick off game they have 4-5 other games to improve the uniforms. I don't think it's a bad thing having the apparel companies come up with new uniforms as long as the players like it. VT had a Turkey track on the side of their helmets a couple of years ago and it was a disaster. The players hated them and most of the fans did to.

Ul isn't getting $8 million in cash from adidas. A significant sum of that $8 million is the cost of your uniforms in all sports, including paying for odd uniforms like these.

From what I see, money goes towards ul marketing internships as well.

It's $1.54 million in cash, which is still good and higher than the $350 k in cash from your previous adidas contract.

Better than the old buy one get half off the second pair contract we used to have many years ago that is for sure.

While not $8 million in straight cash, it saves the University $$ to not have to pay for these things outright. Plus they outfit all of our athletic teams, while many apparel deals are only for the revenue sports, sports such as rowing and wrestling are often times paid out of the school's budget. I believe our contract with Adidas is one of the top apparel contracts.

I like all of it except that one side of the helmet. It's like the one flaw intentionally put into every Persian carpet.
