That's right! Be lulled into a deep slumber prior to playing South Florida. Look beyond our game as you count it already as a victory. Then suffer the reality of defeat. Muwhahahahaha!!!!!! 05-stirthepot

I could see Temple finishing anywhere from 1st to 5th. I have faith in the defense but the offense remains a big concern imo. Walker and Co. were simply horrific at times last year which kept us from being anything more than middling/average.

Ultimately, I believe we'll be marginally better but still not good enough to garner national respect. A win over PSU to start the year would obviously change my tune.

The psu game will be tough this year. I think Hackenberg takes the next step.

I think the conference as a whole is going to be tough next year. Memphis, Houston, and Navy IMO will slug it out for the west and the east IMO is completely wide open. Only team in the east I don't think could potentially win the division is UCONN. It may very well come down to who has the more favorable home/road match-ups and who gets the easier draw from the west.

The Athlon one is my fav regarding their outlook some teams in this conference. Example: According to them ECU should be terrible and UCONN should be better. ECU is projected to finish better than UCONN. 03-lmfao03-banghead03-lmfao You just can't make this s*it up.

I don't think usf will contend next year but they shouldn't be overlooked. I don't think they seriously content for the east until next year at the earliest

Not really.

Both pick Houston, Navy & Memphis to battle for the West.

Both pick USF and UConn to bring up the rear in the East.

Just about everybody is going to pick it this way. Three team race in the West. Four team race in the East.

BTW, Phil Steele is the most accurate preseason magazine over the last 3, 5 and 10 years. CITE

USF will surprise a few fans counting them as wins for their teams

Agreed 100%. I first bought a Phil Steele mag in 2006. I LL never forget his (at that time) mind boggling bowl predictions: Boise St in the Fiesta Bowl. It happened. I buy all the preseason mags but Phil Steele is the one I go with. He's spot on. He's the only one who actually puts thought into EVERY school in FBS. Athlon does not research "non-power league" teams at all. They simply make predictions by schedule and previous years records. Steele lists every schools 2 deep and entire roster, recruiting class and really knows the high school recruits best. (Scout is awful) I call em as I seem em so there's your free plug Phil haha

This is a darn good football league, not only a win vs PSU but if you all are able to defeat a few of the other top AAC teams that should get you guys more recognition down here (Texas) too.

USF needs to be careful here. They ran Skip off and he did a good job here at East Carolina and now at Louisiana Tech. Taggart it's known for being a great recruiter and did a nice job at WKU. If they fire him too I'm not sure who's going to want the job? I mean I'm sure some up-and-coming Cordinator would want it and they might be better off but I doubt they would get a current FBS head coach to leave their current job for South Florida this time around.

6-6 he is safe
5-7 with better offense and signs of improvement puts him in question
4-8 or lower he is probably gone
