I don't hate or love/like any ACC teams outside of UofL.

I root for UofL when not playing UC.

Other than that I don't have an opinion on any ACC teams really.

I got you on that one. I don't really have any particular hate or like for ACC teams in general but Sryexcuse for me because of the old rivalry between them and Rutgers.

There seems to me to be a direct correlation between the vastly tepid response toward ACC schools from our posters (except for Miami and Florida State) and the inability of the ACC to saturate its own market footprint. For the size of the markets the actual viewing numbers are neck and neck for the worst saturation of a market with the PAC. This more than anything else is the source for speculation about the ACC. The PAC is protected from unwanted advances toward their schools by geography. The ACC abuts both of the market saturation leaders, the Big 10 and SEC. The lack of intense rivalries or of having teams that have enough of the national attention to either be loved or despised by the general public is really just a very telling symptom of the apathy toward the product as a whole.

This is why adding Texas or Oklahoma to the ACC would be a crucial move to invigorate its markets and expand them significantly at the same time. Nobody is hated (or loved) like Texas except for Notre Dame and maybe Ohio State and Alabama. Adding intense national feelings for Texas and Notre Dame to Miami and Florida State makes the ACCN must see TV. Why? Because as we see in this thread nobody nationally cares if North Carolina beats Syracuse or if Virginia takes out Boston College. Heck not even enough people care within the conference footprint to really drive the needle regionally. Florida State didn't have that problem. People love or hate the Noles and that's good for business. One reason basketball is first in the ACC is because nationally people do care enough to hate North Carolina, Duke, and Syracuse.

The Big 12 dominates its footprint almost as well as the SEC and slightly better than the Big 10 which is also strong. Add that passion to the ACC lineup and you make it interesting. Keep playing to the Beltway and the Wine and Cheese crowd and your ratings will continue to stink. Play to the masses (hopefully not with a Finebaum) and your product will become compelling. Texas helps that tremendously.

As far as the ACC goes, don't like em, don't hate em, don't care about em.

UConn fans have far more animosity toward BC.

Syracuse is like a sibling rivalry. BC is like the mean kid down the street that kicks dogs.

BC. Boston fans are the most obnoxious people I have had the misfortune to ever meet.

Now that I reside in Boston, the answer is crystal clear.

Of the Power 5 conferences, the ACC is actually my favorite...great group of southern schools but if I'm choosing one football team to hate then it's definitely Georgia Tech. In-state school and I'm still bitter about last year (bs forward lateral) so I already have the game in 2016 circled. It's on!!

I don't mind fsu, I just didn't like jameis. Miami though, those fans were ridiculous. Lets just say that a majority of their fans never actually attended and it was obvious which ones didn't.

I hated Miami before Shannon and Al Golden.
I'm not a big fan of FSU.
But as a PSU fan, I gotta go with one of the ACC's newer teams.

Wake Forest. Because it annoys me they are in a P5 conference.
