I like the current location and hope they can build a 30,000 seat place there. If it gets the neighborhood on board more, and lets the school use the stadium for other events such as concerts, commencement etc then even better. There are revenue opportunities that will need to be exploited by renting the facility occasionally. Plus, it has always made me nuts that we would have to lose the gameday building if we moved sites. Either way, I'll be there no matter where it gets built. The only way they can screw this up is by taking it off campus and that hasnt been discussed.

Some day the new stadium will be built at some as yet unspecified location. As I am not getting any of the $1.6 million to draw up plans or making any of the decisions on the location or size, I will just get on with my life until I am offered the opportunity to select my new seats in the new stadium. Life is way too short to worry about stuff over which you have no control.

The only realistic option and the quickest path to a new stadium is the Foreman Field site.

The AD had said something about this during the Coaches Caravan. ODU is paying to do feasibility study for current location to appease people who are against moving to the new location. I guess they need a study to prove, once and for all, that current location won't work. He said that once that had been completed they'd begin with new location.

Or build one side one off season and the other side the other off season. Building the West Side first then the East Side. Our off season weather is generally good enough to allow for construction in a tight time frame.

No it wasn't. Initially they looked at it and then decided it was too small. All this said is that they are going to go back and look at it again before making a final decision.

Nothing surprising or interesting at all here.

Unless the stadium is going to be over 40K you can't play games with only one side built..... unless you want to piss off a lot of current fans.

The ODU Monarchs will play at Foreman Field during the construction of our new stadium. As some who attended the coaches caravans reported, the part of the study pertaining to whether-or-not to build the new stadium at the current Foreman Field site is basically perfunctory. It is being written in mostly to silence any critics who might later say that it was never fully considered. Not only would the FF site mean we would have to play off campus for at least two seasons, it would also limit future expansion, and quite possibly drive up the cost.

One thing's certain - 2018 is out the window.

The Tides season ends the first week of September. Harbor Park could be converted for football or ODU can tear Foreman field down, on side per season.

Seems fairly logical. Harbor Park would be a decent fit on a Saturday. Lot's of parking, easy access and you could probably fit quite a bit of temporary seating in there in addition to what is already there.
