So our top tier teams might go .500 vs their bottom tier teams. Now as to your view that I watch too much ESPN, ain't true except for that damned bottom line thing. You know the one we show up about once an hour because none of our teams are top 25.

... I'm surprised they even allow our guys to take part in their sport.

They are in the process of fixing that right now, hence P5 vs G5 monikers, money and exposure.

Nope, they have the control... That's all they really want is to make the rules. We will never be totally separate like FBS and FCS.

Ok bruh... You are right, our guys shoukd all quit and volunteer to carry those guys pads. They are all super human and ours are a sub par species. I'm surprised they even allow our guys to take part in their sport. Being ranked in the top 25 is being ranked in their money system. If the mid level P5 would actually schedule games against the upper G5 you would see... But they don't because they know what the outcome would be.

You always take things over the top 99. Exactly how many of our guys are going to be drafted this week vs the teams you mentioned. Lets take a count Sunday of SB-C teams vs them.

Oh, yea the NFL scouts are also enamored by ESPN, and P5. We all know they get lots of players out of FCS and even G5, but almost all of those players were academic casualties so they did not play for P5. Randy Moss comes to mind as one of those tip top tier guys who played for Marshall.

Don't get you ego tied up in knots. I just do not accept coaches speak like you do.

We do have players who in fact were overlooked for whatever reasons who are great college players, and good to great NFL players. But you can count them on one or two hands over the last twenty years.

Just because I do not sniff the coaches jokes like you does not mean I would have our players accept any pre conceived notion about themselves.

You can bet they will always allow non P5 teams to compete against them. The non powers have to have something to sell at the end of the season. They already have 99% of the money, exposure, and the championship is all but guaranteed for four of them.

I'm sorry you were born a cajun fan or didn't get into your dream P5 school or whatever... You are the one sniffing jocks. The saints won a Super Bowl with have a starting lineup from what sounds like an all american quiz bowl roster. You are the most negative fan we have. Everything about us is crap according to you, every team in the SBC has guys that could start or play at most P5's... We just don't have 50 of them... Depth

Not a separation in name, but clearly a separation.

FIU has a 4 year home/home with IU. FIU gets $1 million for 2016 and $800k for 2018 trips to IU. FIU pays IU $200k for trips to Miami in 2017 & 2019. Plus IU paid USF about $500k to cancel a return game.

When you are a mid to low level P5 and you can throw $2 mil around without a second thought, that is separation and recruits will notice that.

RE: If we lose 1 member to CUSA what do we,do?
Well I was not born a Cajun Fan. I chose to become a Cajun Fan early in life despite lots of LSU love in my family. Been a proponent of USL for decades. UL administration not so much because since we became UL our school has backed of every major challenge. Bruno, Tabby, Benson cabal, conference alignment, pursuit of academic tier one.

My dream P5 team would have been LSU, my dad could not understand why I would go to USL instead of following my brother there. Yep I loved their football when I went to USL, but not their students, and alumni. So I went to USL and became a life long advocate, and fan.

I will match my support with anyone so you can get off that stupid argument, but that does not change a damned thing about what coaches at every school feed gullible fans. Your coaches, their coaches, my favorite coaches all have to sell you and me some degree of BS about why they don't win every game.

Nothing new...just dollars are growing...gas used to be .89 a gallon. All bubbles burst, college athletics will at some point.

Negative fan. Nope everything ain't crap, you hyperbole not by a long shot, but everything is not depth either . The first 22 players are pretty much the ones who make or break you. Almost every coach will let a starter tongue hand out before going to the second guy in a tight game.

Yeah? Guess what happens when the P5 runs out their fresh set of 22 who is as good as our first 22 but ours are dog tired from keeping it a tight game? Depth

RE: If we lose 1 member to CUSA what do we,do?
Well to be honest Hud has not had a tight game in any quarter except for a Florida team that was just awful on offense vs P5 we have played. So you dog tired 22 does not stack up in reality. Not depth in the first quarter. Now you are simply arguing to be arguing. Nobody simply runs out another 22 players until the win has been secured.

I can recall some early blowouts vs OSU, Kansas State (Rebuilding who just got beat by FSC NDSU), Arkansas who got beat by UMMost the year before, and was everybodies fodder the same year they dominated us. Not depth.

The first OSU game we managed to hang early due to some very good play on balls. Yep those guys got to the NFL, but even with those interceptions we got drilled. Not depth. The next year that same OSU team beat us to crap from the get go. Then the KSU game, never were in it, and of course the pigs intercepted the hell out of Broadway.

You want to talk depth, that would have been Troy about ten years ago taking LSU to the end of the game. Depth might have played a part in that game. But if I can pick out a game here and there it really isn't the norm is it.

Yep, you right we did have a good game vs Arizona and guess what? They were an awful P5 team that year, and according to several who went to that game bad zebra calls at the end costed us that game, not depth.

As to your litany of coaches I do not respect? Well you will not find one thread I call out a coach for bad decisions or failure to recruit. I have never said a negative thing about Hud, Robe, Lotief, Brodhead. Now I do have many about Marlin who has managed to stumble along for five and going on six years with mostly non success. I might add that most of Marlin's problems are self made and he is a coach who can be successful and he might be. Success to me is not consistently finishing outside of the top two in regular season, and mostly outside of top three.

You said Hud had never been in a tight game against a p5.. You were wrong. I didn't say we lost to Arizona because of depth... They almost loss because of their lack of P5 depth... Our talent was on par with theirs which is why we should have won. You keep moving your points to try to make an argument in your own head.

Lots of P5's go 2 and 3 deep with our talent level... We usually just have the starters then the drop off is in depth. Your starters keep games close but either get tired from having to play every snap or your depth chart gets beat in the end. There are different variables and tangibles that translate to NFL and it's mostly size. There are only so many roster spots in the NFL.

No, it is not the same. LSU had nine players drafted in 2013 and nine players in 2014. UL had none in both drafts. It has nothing to do with roster spots in the NFL or size or different variables. It has everything to do with talent.

And if I'm a GM who gets fired if I make mistakes, I'm gonna hedge my bets and go with the guy who is the safer pick... If you draft an lsu player and he is marginal you aren't getting fired, you draft a high pick from UL... He better be the next demarcus ware or you will be an idiot. We see it all the time, P5 transfer players that come here because of grades or off field issues and they struggle to start and often end up back ups. If I'm drafting someone and they are about the same, I'm gonna take the 6'4 310 lb guy all day over the 6'0 300 lb guy. It's more about safer picks and feeding the money system that is football... Like they do with everything else. Charles Tillman, Ike Taylor... Those guys played for us when we had 4 wins in 3 years. Ladarius green, bill Bentley, mike Adams and that's just cajuns. G5 has guys just as talented... The P5's just have 50 of them... It's depth. Lsu and bama are the 2 most extreme examples, certainly not the norm or the majority, good thing we don't all play them twice a season as our OOC.

A GM has one job and that is to built a winner. It does not matter where the talent is coming from, if it does not work out he will be gone. The SBC is not producing much NFL talent. In 2014, the SBC had four players drafted, none before the fifth round. As a comparison, the MWC had 16 players drafted, five in the 2nd round alone. The Big 12 had 17 players drafted in 2014.

The Sun Belt needs more talent. UL is one of the best teams in the SBC and they have had seven players drafted into the NFL in the last 15 years. Fresno State is one of the better MWC teams and they have had a player drafted in each of the last 14 drafts, a total of 26 players. To improve the TV contract and TV exposure, we need MWC type talent.

The SBC needs talent that can't beat our OOC schedule, doesn't have to give Mel kyper a hard on. Why don't you post boise st draft numbers?

On the bright side, USA expects to have their first ever drafted players. TE Wes Saxton is probably a 4th-7th round pick and QB Brandon Bridge is a late-round, FA prospect.

By the way... Our watched our lowly talented cajuns run up and down the field on that super MWC talent... One who had an NFL QB and RB... Another who has college footballs 2nd all time yardage leader held without a TD. We get boise st at home next year, I bet it won't be the same result as on the blue turf

Maybe this contemptible Cajun on Cajun conflict could carry-off to a Cajun concentrated conclave of conversation.

I always use http://www.WalterFootball.com for my mock drafts and such... Guy has a really good amount of data there.

But he's a bit confusing for USA:

He's got Wes Saxton listed as a 3rd-5th round prospect, but going undrafted.

He's got Brandon Bridge listed as a 6th-FA type prospect, but going in the 5th to Kansas City.

Go figure.
