2015 College Football Strength of Schedule Released
Southern Miss is #47 not far behind ole myth and MSTake. Kinda surprised that Marshall and UTEP were in last place...seriously.

I think we have seen this before. It is based solely on wins and loses of your opponents from the previous season and therefore is full of holes. 01-wingedeagle

RE: 2015 College Football Strength of Schedule Released
It's fair to remember that a team's SOS can change drastically every week, especially from the beginning of the season. Another thing to keep in mind is that pre-season SOS numbers are made up of records from the previous season, yet do not incorporate that season's SOS numbers themselves. Take them with a grain of salt. Then again, it's the offseason so let's have a 20 page argument about why University X's schedule is harder than University Y's, despite this article claiming otherwise and that none of this actually matters.

EDIT: Still, thanks for sharing SethManKA1 (I'm guessing you are/were a KA?). Anything to help us through the offseason works.

EDIT #2: Here's a list of the CUSA programs in order. Listed will be overall rank, program name, followed by win percentages of 2015 opponents with their 2014's records. If there's any interesting facts worth noting, I'll post 'em.

44. UTSA 55.26% (tied with Texas)
47. Southern Miss 54.97% (tied with Louisville)
60. Louisiana Tech 53.64%
66. FIU 53.33%
71. Florida Atlantic 52.03%
81. Middle Tennessee 50.33%
86. North Texas 49.67% (tied with Boise)
97. Rice 47.97 (Nerds)
101. Western Kentucky 46.67%
109. Old Dominion 45.95%
116. Charlotte 44.52%
127. UTEP 38.10% (second lowest pre-season SOS)
128. Marshall 37.76% (and let the **** show, commence)

Now leave me alone, I'm trying to study for finals over here.

College football preseason strength of schedule is almost as useful as college football preseason rankings...oh wait...

Or as useful as the CFP Committees next to last poll, where #3 TCU drops to 6th after a 53 point win because of body of work.

They apparently forgot to send the CFP committee members their fruit baskets and Christmas cards last year...

Yes I was a KA. Miss my college days but life goes on. I still keep in touch with most of my frat bros.

Silly as hell to use last seasons data for this season...Almost sillier than these preseason traditional power preseason coaches and AP polls...

So UTEP's sos is next to last even though they play Arkansas and Texas Tech both on the road? I realize the game at NMSU (fbs but weak) and the home opener vs Incarnate Word, a new fcs, weaken the schedule, but that much? May as well have scheduled NMSU and IW twice each and had a nearly guaranteed 4 wins to start the season.

Let's just win a bunch of OOC games against contract conference schools giving us all .500 or better records heading into conference play and make these preseason SOS lists look stupid.

Pretty simple plan I came up with. 03-thumbsup

ODU needs to step it up, their SOS was pathetic last year and this year. It brings the whole conference down. Their AD needs to quit scheduling OOC cupcakes.

Our football program is an FBS startup. When did y'all get a basketball team?

Unfortunately, we can't schedule ourselves, but "you're welcome" to our conference mates for upping, dramatically, the win percentage of your opponents.

We are talking football here not basketball.

In college basketball, home court is a statistically proven decisive advantage way more than any other sport played. Just look how ODU won at home but performed miserably on the road.
