Maybe they figured that no "off" dates would be balanced by not having to play any Tuesday games?

EDIT: In the absence of a travel partner for App, this actually looks like a pretty ideal schedule. It probably would have been better to give App a mid-season off week, though.

What peeves me the most is that right now, all of App's Saturday opponents will have either only played on Tuesday or not at all that week while we have a Thursday night game every week.

Gotcha...didn't even notice that. I wonder if that was a wrinkle that was too difficult to iron out while keeping the "weekend in another state" road trips. It seems like something could be done differently, but it's frying my brain trying to work it out right now.

It can be done. This reeks of no one agreeing with it so the office takes advantage of our AD transition to **** us over.

And I don't want to hear any **** from the west about New Mexico State.

I agree it puts App at something of a disadvantage. We need to do 1 of 2 things. Either get a 12th eastern team, even if it is Liberty or reduce the 20 game conf schedule to 16. If the conference schedule is reduced to 16 all teams should go to con tournament though--- top 5 get byes 6 plays 11, 7'plays 10 and 8 plays 9. Then you are down to 8 teams and the format can be what it was this year.

I agree that it does give a possible advantage with teams coming to Boone on Saturday having not played on Thursday. However, the schedule is better from a travel standpoint. There won't be any situations where teams get to Boone before we do. All away games are back to back in the same state.

I thought the coaches hated the men's and women's double-headers and schedule and fussed about it... So why was it agreed upon again?

Apparently there are only 2-3 schools who are against double headers.

It would mean one trip to Boone for you guys instead of two and vice versa. I suppose that could factor into it.

NMSU ALL SPORTS!

Sorry, couldn't resist .... .. .

On a serious note, I've no problem adding JMU ...
Drop Idaho, then add Mo. St.

Probably the 2 best programs left to add .. ..

The best possible solution here is to insert the games against the traditional rivals on the Tuesday before team's play App State.

Or how bout "hey, we can't make this schedule perfect, let's make of it what we can?" rather than go from one extreme to the other. Have everyone have a "take one for the team" week or two, rather than go in no lube on one member.

It'll have to be completely redone when we join on July 1st anyway.

That's not what your administration has told the Missouri Valley Conference. Sounds like UAB want's no part of the SBC.

We can hope. To me UAB entering to give us 12 in Olympic sports and Idaho leaving to give us 10 in football would bea good outcome.
