AState adding booze. If you can afford it
AState seeking alcohol sales for those in premium seating. Unless you can afford $2000 for a club seat or $4000 for four loge box seats, no hooch for you.

Sounds like Texas State, and when you get to the club level you still have to pay $3-$5 fro a beer.
Nope, I'll take my place with the heathers in the cheap seats and swill gut-rot whiskey like God intended.
Boot + Flask = $Free.95

All the Cajun venues sell beer. It's not cheap at about $7 per large beer, but they do offer a very good variety including some local craft beers.

GS $1500 donation allows purchase of up to 4 season tickets @ $210 each for club level which is under mid-deck and free "beer garden"; each seat over 4 requires prorated donation of $300 each or total of $510...but hey - free beer!

Doesnt everywhere in LA sell alcohol? I think its in baby formula. I went to a pharmacy at the SBC Championships and they had hard liquor.

They used to have beer on tap on Schwegman's grocery store when I lived in New Orleans. The drive-through Daiquiri places are cool as well.

How is this going to happen in a dry county? Or has Craighead County gone wet?

County option in Arkansas doesn't apply to private clubs. That is controlled at the state level. This is why Jonesboro restaurants have bars.

What's wrong with drinking on a Sunday?
Believe it or not, Louisiana still has one of those stupid, antiquated Blue Laws that does not allow alcohol sales before 10 or 11 AM on a Sunday.

12 in NC. If you are going to a Panthers game and plan to tailgate, you have to buy the night before or you are SOL.

Preserves the church's monopoly on Sunday AM alcohol.

RE: AState adding booze. If you can afford it
The relationship we have with alcohol in the US is really interesting and someone out there could put together a really fascinating book about the moral changes in the US and UK from 1830 to around 1880.
It is (as far as I know) a little studied period at least in popular history but during that period:
1. The UK abolished slavery, a number of US had abolished slavery though many had a phase-out period so that there were actually some slaves legally held under state law in many free soil states. Then the US abolished slavery.
2. Toward the end of the century most states replaced common law crime of abortion (illegal once the fetus can be felt to move) with either complete prohibition or restricting the practice to doctors. Unlike today not a Christian led movement, rather physician led.
3. Temperance began as a movement in the 1830's and morphed from moderation to prohibition. Welch's grape juice was created to replace communion wine.
4. Big changes in sexual mores.
A lot of our great social debates today are rooted in that transition period and many people do not realize that a lot of the "liberal" positions of today were the "conservative" positions of two centuries ago.

That was my point. You are unlikely to see that at a grocery store on a Sunday at 11 am in a lot of other states,

Well despite Louisiana politics being a complete and utter disaster, I guess that was one thing we did get right.

RE: AState adding booze. If you can afford it
I'll never forget my last Memphis vs ASU game...as always, I stuff my cargo pants with beer to enjoy during the game...this is an old Memphis football tradition...and after I opened my first beer, ASU fans started staring like I was offering some child sacrifice in the stands.
Couple of busybodies went to get an usher so we moved seats...drank another beer, then went back to original seats.
Ended up coming back and winning the game at the end...it was great.

Alcohol sales on Sunday actually varies by city in Arkansas. While most do not sell ETOH on Sundays, a few do. I know you can purchase in Altus, Ozark, Diamond City, Eureka Springs, Pyatt, Summit, Springdale, and Tontitown on Sunday. There maybe more.
