Hard to gauge since a large segment of CUSA was in the SBC during that time.

Does.Not.Matter

We play the games that are dealt us regardless of what conference we might or might not be a member of at some future date.

And having said that, I can GUARANTEE that the SunBelt is stronger today with Georgia Southern and App State than it was with the UNTs and the F_Us.

Losing middle and WKU hurt a lot and we picked up georgia state, NMSU and Idaho. Seems like an even trade. And I think you're the only Cajun fan that wants to remain in the belt. Are you even a Cajun fan?

Yes I am a Cajun fan, was probably cheering on Cajun teams when you were loading your diapers so f off.

No way you're a sports fan If you have to question what a walk off double is. Ridiculous.

If we can unload NMSU and Idaho and GaSt can halfway figure things out, the SBC will easily rank higher than CUSA. We have a contract that potentially gets rid of our dead weight in NMSU and Idaho, but CUSA is stuck with Charlotte, FIU,FAU,NT which will drag on their conference. Plus I'm not sure Southern Miss will ever make it back to their old ways given the additional competition close by.

UNT- Sun Belt Champs in 2001, 2002, and 2003
FAU- Sun Belt Champs in 2007
FIU- Sun Belt Champs in 2010

In 5 of the 14 years that the SBC has been in existence, one of these three schools won the football championship. That's not too shabby if you ask me.

I do agree that Georgia Southern and App St were both excellent additions to the SBC. There's really no other school out there that the SBC could add that would match those two.

I agree. Unt had a great year 2 years ago. Teams go up and down. Do I expect Troy to be as bad as last year going forward? Absolutely not.

You are correct BR, not too shabby at all. And yet those fan bases, once they were in CUSA, whizz all over the SunBelt claiming the Belt somehow held them back. Well, what have they done lately?

Friggin´ ungrateful UNTs went to 3 or 4 bowl games with the SunBelt, the turds.

Unt winning in basically a I-aa sun belt in 01,02,03 has about as much relevance today as saying Tulane won the SEC in '32 and somehow that makes the AAC good today.

Unt was a disaster of GaSt proportions last year. Try harder.

With the exception of 2013, the UNTs have been a disaster for a decade or more with something like one winning season in all that time......yet it was the mean ole SunBelt that held them back.

We have scheduled home and home games with Louisiana Tech and USM. We had one scheduled with UAB. We have played UTSA in a series. We played Tulane as a member of CUSA.

USA doesn't seem to have a problem scheduling CUSA teams. Its possible, seeing as Arkansas State is complaining, that the school in question that refuses to schedule Sun Belt schools is MTSU. Or WKU. Or UNT. Who knows.

----

CUSA schedules with Sun Belt teams

WKU - none.
MTSU - none.
Charlotte - Georgia State and App State
Old Dominion - App State and the end of an existing deal with Idaho
FAU - none.
FIU - none.
Marshall - none.
Rice - none.
UTSA - Texas State
UNT - none.
La Tech - USA and the end of an existing deal with ULL
USM - USA and Troy
UTEP - NMSU

---

I do see a pattern. It seems as though the former Sun Belt teams don't have any games scheduled with any of their former teams.

I find unt's fan base to be somewhat obnoxious, but in fairness to UNT, over the years they had several offers to leave the Belt, and turned them down.
I believe, like TX ST, they wanted to be with other TX schools, so when CUSA offered them a spot in the last round of realignment, they took it ... . Can't really say that I blame them ... . Prior to that, they were pretty loyal to the SBC .. .. .

Too much attention being focused on the Sun Belts bottom dwellers. It's the top of the conference that makes this the best G5 with exception of the AAC at the moment. Some can't see the forest for the trees.

GS is a cocky bunch you'll likely agree but we know with certainty that crAppy ain't buyin it. At least at the moment. We'll have that worked out soon enough. Get on the train folks... 04-cheers

I admit that my view of the UNTs is colored by a few obnoxious fans of theirs who vanished like farts in a N. Dallas windstorm once the going got tough. I do not blame the university at all either for jumping on the C-USA offer.

Until recently I figured the Cajun program would do the same. Today I am not so sure.

App took advantage of being down last year and scheduled eight home and homes.

We can't get a single CUSA team to schedule us home/home. Our AD has said we have called all of them and not a damn one will play us home/home. This "triple option" nonsense doesn't hold water. We are not a triple option team anymore . Our offense last year was not a triple option offense.

If I'm not wrong the article was about teams not wanting to schedule GS not the Sun Belt. We have had trouble for years scheduling teams didn't start after the Florida win. There is a reason you guys have no problems scheduling G5 games.

This is silly. Those conferences don't schedule the Sunbelt because they view you as being beneath them. Has nothing to do with being afraid. In their eyes this is like the AAC calling out the Pac 12 for avoiding them.
