ND at #104 won the ACC Tournament championship, went 32-6, made it to the Elite 8 and battled Kentucky to the wire.

I wonder what Mike Brey could do if ND gave one damn about its basketball program?

Very good point...ND is getting Bang for it's $$$$ especially with Louisville, UNC, Duke and Syracuse in the same league.

I don't think these numbers don't take into account the 2014-2015 season. Their methodology is interesting at best. But I still like seeing UAB as the most valuable team in C-USA.

That's not a stretch. What, about 20 tournament visits and average of 10K tickets sold per game.?

Home attendance (ranked 55th in 2013-2014) is much better than #104. Maybe ND has lower basketball ticket prices than other teams (which would mean lower basketball revenue, of course) and fewer donations/sponsorships tied directly to men's hoops.

Virginia Tech comes in at #50. That's much better than I would have expected.

UConn does well for being G5.

Imagine what we could do with the advantages that the P5 programs have.

ND has a 47 year old arena, no separate basketball practice facility and its basketball program is without much financing for much of anything.

Some schools benefit from no professional competition. UConn has the Boston Celtics and NY Knicks within driving distance. That's a competitive market. And we still do well.

You really think that would make a difference?
This is only your second year not being in a power 5 league. UConn won a national championship not being in a power 5 league.

That is surprising since they are in the same city as the Bearcats and have the Bengals and Reds as competition.

Structurally, the ACC is not built to come out on top in these types of valuations in either football or basketball, but at least they are competitive in the basketball valuations.

The B1G is the best of the conferences when combining the two money generating sports and therefore the most attractive in terms of these valuations.

Cheers,
Neil

I think UConn's success in both men's and women's basketball transcends conference affiliation. P5 will truly only have meaning in terms of football for UConn. Somehow they need to leverage their success in basketball to get a spot when expansion comes around again, which I am confident they will.

Cheers,
Neil

I'm sure these values factor (in part) what conference the program is in. But I agree, it's only been 22 months since the Big East broke up so the full impact has not been felt yet.
