Where' you been, Ramen?

Now there is a coach that could thrive at a legit basketball school. Florida's basketball support is a joke.

If Donovan becomes available, thats when you break the bank and go for it.

As I've said, all of you pining for Coach to leave, be patient, you'll get your wish, mark it, next year will be a good one and then he will shake the dust of this city off and move on. This year has been invaluable for coach. I doubt if he stays at any one school for long periods of time, fan bases such as this one will turn on you very fast, screw loyalty. The same with the football coach, I would bolt after another successful season because if he has one bad one after that, we'll want him fired to. I'm being sarcastic, but I do believe that any loyalty that he had for us is now gone

Tiger football is a much much different situation. Fuente isn't breaking the bank and is underpaid by a substantial margin. Pastner is making a joke out of our golden goose while making a substantial amount of money. However, it is not Pastner's fault that he won't fire himself and lies squarely with the decision makers dropping the ball coach/contract wise.

Cant imagine that FLA would fire him, so if he is out its b/c he's leaving by his own choosing. Wonder if he has an NBA gig lined up

Seems like that's what it would be, though it didn't last long once before:

Barnes fate will be known next week according to Parrish but most likely will not return. See his tweeter for article link.

I'm on my tablet and tweeters won't cut paste from the app.

Tennessee fans jumping for joy to get Barnes. They think making the tourney every year will happen there since it happened at Texas.

I suspect this is true...and he should.

Team will likely be much better next year...and was pretty good the several seasons before this past year. Not great, and in the last two seasons, even in the one where our kids knocked off five ranked opponents, they suffered a few more than comfortable big margin losses (some of those had deceivingly big final scores but a few too many nonetheless).

So he will likely have coached a team that over six years made five NCAAs, advanced in four of them, now much advancement in the next one we do not know although I can already predict the mocking of even the idea that a team with Austin Nichols as a healthy Junior etc...will be much improved...yet suffered through merciless mocking and bashing and snark over the one sandwiched season.

Let's say, for arguments sake, team makes a seven game improvement...very possible if you recall some of the losses this past year...so they are 25-7...a five or six seed in the NCAA and win two games (and it could be better)...he should leave.

And flip off Nasal and the crew on the way out.

And yes, for those who require it...should there be no significant injuries and the team next year is similar to this past year...we should make him leave.

Amazing.

Pastner should stay after a down year and leave after a good year.

So I guy who gets paid in the top-20 coaches and doesn't go to the Sweet 16 in seven years should flip off Nasal and the crew on the way out?

If CJP takes us to the Sweet 16 next year, I will be amazed and most likely he WILL get to keep his job. Otherwise, he's gone.

IF Texas fires Barnes they will NEVER get any coach to replace him.

You CANNOT fire a coach that has gone to the NCAA 4 out of the last 5 years. You CANNOT fire a coach that has won more games than ANY coach in school history.

NOBODY will take the job.

You guys need to brush up on your math. It's now 4 out of 6 yrs in the tourney. And he only "advanced" twice.

I will truly be surprised if Marshall doesn't end up in Austin by mid April.

He'll command and get about $4mm per year, perks beyond compare, and have 100% complete control of his program. Assistants, schedule, all of it.
