Gives small providers pole access. There was a thread on reddit where several small ISP CEO's were sharing their thoughts and they said it was great for them because it gives them an opportunity to expand their networks like they've never had before.

I believe they'll have to pay rental fees, but in the past, the pole owners could just keep them off entirely, and since you can't just go throw up brand new poles right next to existing ones due to limited ROW, there was nothing some providers could do to expand their networks.

This is customer service fail, not a net neutrality matter. Did the home buyer check existing cable/utility
hookups? did he look to see of there was an cable from the road or pole into the home? I never trust
TV/ISP customer service people sitting in call center 1,000 miles away. Cincy Bell customer service and
tech support is in Manilla.

If you read, their sites said service was available and BroadbandMaps.gov, maintained by NTIA and the FCC, claimed he did too.

I can agree that it isn't society's job. It also isn't society's job to provide you with electricity, water, or roads to your house. And yet you're just as dependent upon near universal coverage of all three. If any of those former three were delivered with the gross incompetence the internet is in this country, there'd be riots. And I'd argue in another 15-30 years the internet will be equally as important as those three are now.
