Of course not. They are going to let Ray Watts continue to "fapp" in the wind and look like a fool until they have no more use for him. If he even had the list bit of a spine we would resign just like Mackin did.

I don't know Mackin's level of guilt and in the end I think he was probably blindsided, but at least he had the common sense to get out before he took a public beating. Ray Watts can't lead a normal life no matter how much he makes.

This. He continues to toe the line for the BOT until they let him go after negotiating a fat severance/hush money.

I don't think they're going to dispose of him any time soon.

He's definitely not doing them any favors because of all the bad press, but I believe they entrenched themselves when they sided with him after the no confidence votes. If they cast him aside after this, it's going to be framed as them doing it because of the blowback not because they had the best interests of the people at UAB.

They have to have the appearance of being a responsible public board. Therefore doing nothing will cost them far more than casting Ray aside.

Yeah Watts will be rewarded handsomely for being the most despised man in Birmingham.

Why you could almost fund a football program with that amount of money.

I wonder if Ray is resisting the buyout. If he signs an NDA, then he can't defend his non-existent honor.

What is the point of an athletics committee if they don't know anything about something so massive related to athletics?

Yep. He could be set financially for the remainder of his life but he will always be considered the one responsible.

He was naive as to how deep a pile he was stepping in.

The NDA means his career is over since he can't make the claim that he was coerced. Ray Watts will be so toxic that not even the bama people will want him to work for them in any capacity.
