Complete moron. I'm embarrassed to have him represent my state let alone the country. This looney is way too far on the right. Almost equivalent to a leftist socialist. And there are a few republicans I like such as Rand Paul and Jeb Bush

Despite them being on the complete opposite end of the political spectrum, there are quite a few extremely close parallels in the backgrounds of Cruz and Obama. I would never vote for him in a gazillion years, but at least Cruz has an intellect that I've yet to ever see in Rick Perry. Maybe I'm just a little bias on Cruz's part because his mom is a Rice grad.

I don't hate him but he's been dead wrong on a lot of issues I can't get over.

The only parallel is Harvard Law. Aside from that, their backgrounds couldn't be more different.

Both are minorities. Both have fathers who weren't born in the United States. Neither was born in the continental United States and both spent part of their childhood living in other countries. Both were first-term senators when they first announced candidates for presidency and about the same age. Both attended Ivy League schools despite their relatively poor upbringings (Cruz's family was a little better off than Obama's though). And both have two daughters.

Face it, Cruz is the far right's answer to Barack Obama.

Cruz did not spend his childhood in another country. He has been a Texan since he was 4. I doubt he even remembers living in Canada. Obama was educated by foreign communists in Indonesia.

I tend to think of him as someone who has been outspoken on DC and the status quo. I would assume his voting record backs that up.

Both are great speakers! Obama and Cruz can grab an audience during elections!

That's as far as I'll go for either of them!

America would be better if both would have NEVER entered politics!

I personally like the guy. He won't beat Scott Walker or Jeb Bush, but he could turn our country around QUICKLY. He's the anti-Obama.

Jeb Bush and Hillary might as well run on the same ticket.

I do think he's in this more as a "anti-Washington" candidate moreso than anything.. (I'd still vote Walker over him, as I'd rather Cruz get a few more sessions under his belt as a Senator).

He has zero chance, so it just kicks off the silly presidential campaign.

He has no chance whatsoever. I agree with that statement.

He can only damage the Republicans.

He will certainly put the primary debates further right than the national party would like. Plus, he probably wins Iowa.

I do not like Cruz at all, but he'll probably take a lot of Santorum's support and at least that's a good thing.

Winning Iowa is a death sentence for a Republican.

I like him, but he has no chance.

He's certainly no worse than any of the bumbling dolts the Democrats will nominate.
