We only have 11 teams In hoops. We could easily add 1-3 hoops teams and pick up more ncaa quality teams and pick up more markets.

I am on the fence.
Because we are at 12/11, I can definitely see the merit in adding their sports on the other side of NAVY football.

However, VCU seems like they'd work as well. I like the geographic fit of VCU.

That said, I wouldn't add either until we have some idea as to how much their addition would bolster our TV deal. They're both very good programs. I can see both sides on this.

Either way, I think our conference will be formidable and replenish itself with the recruiting strides being made.

Trying to find the start or menu button on my remote so I can add Wichita, but it doesn't seem to work. It can't be more difficult than that, can it?

My guess is we need to offer 3 hoops memberships before we get a bite. It is a little risky for 1 team to be the only non football member out of the league. Grab VCU, Wichita State, and one other. That is major hoops cred there.

If we offer 3, it should be Wichita, VCU, and UMass (as a potential all-sports member down the road).

id honestly consider it but not before some years.... wichita has been elite with a select set of players...i want to see if they can sustain it without them

also keep in mind tulsa was great almost elite in the mvc/wac...but was below average in a better c-usa....playing in a league they can outrecruit and build confidence, plays a big role in their success

Basketball only has been tried before, it didn't work. No no a thousand times NO to any partial membership(s).

Who says they would want to come? They have lots of history and solid geography where they are. IF they wanted to join a far flung quasi-major hybrid conference, they'd probably join the A-10.

WSU has now made the NCAA tournament 4 straight years, all under Gregg Marshall. They made the NCAA tournament just once in the previous 23 years.

How long will Marshall stay @ WSU ?

I would not add anyone right now.

We aren't adding anyone

Let's see how they do next year when they lose most of their team

You can ask them if they want to come and get back to us. lol.

If they go anywhere, it would be the Big East. Makes far more financial sense but I doubt there going anywhere any time soon. Big East needs to eventually add WSU and Valpo or VCU to go to 12.

But they aren't a institutional fit there, a la VCU.

I've wanted them added for 2 years, adding them and vcu wouldn't hurt anybody it could only help

except more mouths to feed...

and wichita is only good to us when they are winning, a bad to mediocre wichita not in a great market, small school, and its overall brand isnt that great beyond this stretch and would honestly be useless to us

VCU is a different story but im not sure how much its worth to add bball only members and cause potential chaos we jus avoided ..
