Still, I don't think the Sweet 16 is out of reach. Lots of good players coming back, adding the Lawsons, potentially having a full complement of Assistant Coaches (who knows how bad not having Collins around hurt), etc.

One thing that it is helpful to remember. You have to be in the NCAAs to get to the S16. Many smart people say the best way to breakthrough is to continue to have shots. Better or worse, Pastner has had shots.

I am concerned about the blowout losses in the NCAAs, but one run, just one damned run, and perhaps the light bulb clicks on. And then the other positives already in evidence build on that and then, hot damn, we're cooking with gas.

Helps to remember we are (by the tourney's nature) dealing with very small sample sizes.

To be clear, I don't actually see it happening this way, but it's not impossible. And I can totally defend him getting one more year to figure it out.

Reasonable minds can differ on that.

I'm actually more concerned with our athletic department suddenly appearing to be cheap skates. That leads me to believe that Josh isn't going anywhere any time soon. And also makes me believe that if he does we are gonna go cheap when we hire his replacement. I'm seriously worried that basketball is being de-emphasized.
