His teammates are not looking at it that way....just sayin. We are, to a great extent, but they are aiming to step up and go for it.

Sure, I would expect nothing less but look at how they've played without him........
They should go and play as hard as they can and try to win but.......

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.
there is no reason for him to transfer and sit a year.
None at all. He will be a main contributor to what will be a really good possible elite level team.
This is about Nichols, and an unfortunate injury to a young player. He has already been missed, both as a kid, and as a player, losing him really did hurt the team, not an excuse, just a fact. A team that was not great was good and very likely would have 19-21 wins now without these injuries. Instead they have 17...part if the game.
Will be good to see him healthy next year. Between him, a more in shape Kedren, more experienced from the get go guards...look at our last guards improvements from year one to two...under Pastner and former coaches...big leaps. Will be fun...simply unfortunate for this year.
While nothing is likely to slow the mock parade, it is pleasant to still see some regular informational non bashing or bullying or Internet high five seeking drivel.

Lots of energy but not as productive as it seems. Look at last game you would think he was having a double double. But stats showed that while he did get 8 boards he was only 3-10 from field 1 assist and 2 turnovers.
And by the way he has gone from 11.1 minute per game last year to 19.4 minutes per game this year.

Had to un ignore a few...but...wish this stuff could slow down some and leave a thread about Nichols injury to that and the team...but...these er...just other opinions in this thread alone...lord knows what festers the other ones.
Good luck wherever you transfer.
Is 15-16 our record next year?
...reluctance to use King despite the fact he is usually productive when he gets the chance to play...(averages 19.3 minutes, or very few minutes less than all but three players)
Those close to him feel like it will be better to sit out a year.
Time for Josh to experiment with housing markets in other cities.
Bwahahah to the above (score...got that Internet high five). L
...not sticking my head in sand ignoring noise about player transfers (fits in with the idea that if you do not agree your head is in the sand...original)
Incrediboy.
Thanks for those OPINIONS guys!

No was not bullied. But me and many others certainly have been here quite a bit. It usually works with someone addressing even a generic non mocking post with some smart ass comment along the lines of...were you bullied a lot ad a child?
We get the high five seeking. Within that group it is fun. Yes it is fatiguing to post something as generic as this team will likely be much better next year based on this and that...and then see the tag teams begin. Boring really. But unfortunate...and not just that nonsense to me...but to others.
You are cool though, simply boring, so back to ignore. Should add this to aforementioned list, but too much a pain with the I pad.

RE: Nichols out for rest of the year
I sure hope austin nichols stays. He had a good season. It's too bad the injuries got him, and i wish him a speedy recovery.
In this off time, hopefully he hits the weights, eats right, and do things to get in even better condition. If he gets a little thicker without it being in his waist, he will be even better. Use the time to work on his shot, post moves, and the other fundamentals of the game.

RE: Nichols out for rest of the year
There is only one place Nichols is going if he leaves Memphis and that is to the NBA. Since he probably needs another year, he will be in Blue and Gray next year. You can book that ish.
The other thing to consider, while JP doesn't exactly have a sterling track record of developing players, Austin has significantly improved his game since he stepped on campus and my bet would be that both he and his parents are happy with that. I repeat, he is going nowhere.

RE: Nichols out for rest of the year
I would not go nba yet if i was austin nichols. He has potential, but if he can't handle a college schedule injury wise, just imagine 82 games. He can use more experience before considering a nba move.

There are injuries that would suggest what you say makes sense, but I'm not sure rolling your ankle is one of them. Accidents happen. There is also a good probability he was never 100% from the first injury and stepping on someones foot jacked it up even worse. Also, the flip side of the coin is that if what you say is true, another year of college/injuries might really scare the crap out of the NBA teams.

There he is!
And there is another one too, I think she is a female and maybe knows the mom. Hope she chimes in too. Would hate to see Austin transfer despite my opinion on Pastner and my wish that we go in another direction with regards to who coaches the team moving forward after this season.
I don't know anything.

Do you mean there is no chance of him transferring?
I've said in other threads it wouldn't "surprise" me to see ANYONE on this team transfer. That includes Austin...
That being said, I know AN doesn't want to sit out a year & that would outweigh any desire he or his family has to transfer. Doesn't mean they won't kick a few tires...

RE: Nichols out for rest of the year
I can't see why AN would want to transfer, unless there's something beneath the surface which none of us are aware of. He came into his own this season and made a national name for himself. Starting over somewhere else after sitting out a season would seem to be a major step backward in his development.
