Hey big guy: SMU attempted 19 free throws to our 5 attempts; the first half foul total was 10 on us and 4 on them; they were assaulting out guards and whacking out bugs.

This is how Kedren had 3 fouls in the first half.

These are facts and not flames

SMU got in transition and attacked the rim better than us

We settled for to many jumpers

We just need to make shots.

LMAO.

I saw a couple of traveling violations that didn't get called on our guys too. Our guys were fouling...a lot. I'm sorry it's not what you want it to be.

Now, not only was the officiating not bad, we actually got away with stuff. The refs HELPED us by not calling everything on us. 22-3.

LMAO.

Looking at the box score, they called 12 fouls on SMU and 18 on Memphis. Keep in mind that a few of those were intentionals at the end of the game. Also, factor in KJ's T and the disparity is not as great as it seems. We were picking up a lot of shooting fouls. Again, I'm sorry it doesn't fit your agenda.

SMU had to foul on purpose with 7 seconds left in the first half in order to commit their 5th foul. By that time we had committed 9 and the free throws were 18-3.

We also had 8 offensive rebounds, but somehow SMU's entire front line had a combined 3 fouls in the first half.

Quote:Again, I'm sorry it doesn't fit your agenda.

Amazing that the fouls are 9-4, free throws are 18-3; the other team gets away with multiple travelling violations, and your own supposed "fans" claim that you have an agenda when you complain about officiating.

The guy that came out of a 4 year retirement to make 443 posts bashing Pastner, says that I have an agenda. Hilarious...pathetic.

KJ and DC had 6 of the 10 fouls for Memphis in the first half. From what I saw, those were legit fouls, often in the act of shooting. SMU was attacking the basket and getting calls. Our guys were fouling. You can make it whatever you want if you like.

I hear a lot on this board about Pastner's strict 'no cussing' policy being stupid and unrealistic.
Well if KJ had followed said policy, then he would have been available for some more minutes.
It looked obvious that both players were jawing. The fact that only KJ got a technical, suggests his language crossed the line.
Maybe it's not such a stupid policy after all...

Agree. And THAT'S an issue. KJ wouldn't have to mouth at officials if CJP was. As a player, you can "just play the game" when your coach is working the officials for u. Coach K/Pitino/Bo Ryan/Roy Williams/Cal/Bobby Knight's players don't need to even look at an official-their coach takes care of that. Everyone has a job to do. If you don't do your job, it makes the jobs of those around them harder.

I hated coaches like this as a player!

A pig ol pile of this. This is what happens when you aren't well coached on offense, a theme during Josh's tenure.

To those that said I have an agenda, my only agenda is wanting the best for the program. I don't expect you all to follow every post I make but I've been pretty fair with Josh over the years. It's apparent now, unless he miraculously learns how to coach, that he isn't taking this program where any of us want it to be. I never took shots at him, he's a good dude, but there are plenty of better basketball coaches around. Again, unless something drastically changes he should be gone whenever it makes the most financial sense.

Brown said something to Johnson. Johnson said something back.
"Something my mother wouldn't be proud of," said Johnson.
Johnson said: "He approached me and was kind of close to me and said something I didn't like, so I reacted the wrong way and the referee heard it. It happened really fast, but it’s my fault. I have to take responsibility.'”

Predicted replies: "It's Josh's fault. The players don't respect him because he does not cuss." 01-scout

As evidenced by not raising holy hell with the refs when Crawford got knocked on his @ss and was hurt enough to not come back in the game. Perfect time for Pastner to show the players that he has their back, hell even get a tech, might even get a little respect from his players (which he doesn't have) by doing such. But no, he stands over there clapping his hands and having a mild, RESPECTFUL conversation with the refs and smiling the whole time. No damn wonder so many calls go against us.

Just my opinion, but that might be a bad example. I don't think there was anything wrong with the screen that was set. Markel just happened to get clocked by it in that instance.

But I do agree with your point in general. I would like to see Josh get more animated when a call has obviously been blown--go to bat for the guys a bit more.

Not the point. Whether it was just a hard check or not, just by the way it looked, it was a perfect time for him to jump up the refs @ss and show his players he has their back, and to let the refs know, he ain't taking their sh!t any longer. Didn't happen.

Pretty dumb for Josh to protest a call which was not incorrect. I agreed with your original premise of having the players' backs, and there have been many others you can point to and I would agree, but in that instance there was nothing for him to scream about. Nothing. The pick was legal, and he knew it.

They could not have seen the game.

They are simply ready with snark and bait.

Phucking shame really.

Normal fanbases would recognize the effort last night and the screw job in the first half by the refs...circle the wagons, and tell others we may be having. Disappointing season but don't you
U think you can phuck with us.

Nichols missed. Ton of short open shots. Guess that was Browns plan last night. Leave him open as he knew he would miss.

Have not once argued that Pastner is hall of game, or does not have lots to still learn and improve on. But last night, he had his team, incredibly short handed, plying their asses off...while Moore, Brown's best player, was taken out of the game before Crawford was injured by a borderline dirty play. Although our fans will never see it that way.

Disappointing season. Happens. Disappointing fanbase, embarrassing. What a plucking shame.

Kid threw his shoulder forward during the pick.

As crawford's head neared his shoulder he threw it forward, could have broken his jaw.

Screw that. Was bull**** and should have been called. It has before and it will be since. Not blind support here but it is allowed for you Memphis fans to recognize a Memphis screw job without losing your Internet ******* membership cards.

He did a great job, I agree. Just wish we could have pulled away after evening the score instead of fading away.

Josh's problem is he does not pick the right time to let the referees know he is upset. He always argues about a 100% obvious call they got right against us. It just makes him look silly. The 50/50 call is the time to try and get some mileage. Also I think if he would deal with the referees a little more the players wouldnt feel the need to. They would feel like ok the coach has our back

RE: Refs
I saw the game. We played with good energy and effort, no doubt. SMU took AN completely out of the game. It was obvious that was their gameplan. It was not a "screw job by the refs." SMU was more aggressive in attacking the basket and we fouled them...a lot...particularly KJ and DC. The pick on Markel was unfortunate, but not a dirty play. I believe Shaq even admitted as much himself. KJ fouling out quickly in the second half sealed our fate.
