RE: Refs
The accountability goes to the players who Pastner did not recruit or the players he recruited and did not sign with memphis who are not on the floor against the players that SMU has on the floor. All other factors are insignificant unless you are going to post "post-game" analysis that are quantifiable of every win and every loss with how the fouls were called on both ends of the court.

For SMU to have more athletic players than Memphis and for Memphis to have two guards on the floor that should have never been on the floor in the second half is the challenge. Not the referees.

I was wondering what game everyone else watched because I saw the same thing you did. I saw him angry, emphatic and right in the officials' faces.

Like any situation, people are gonna see or not see things based on their own agendas.

While I think Pastner obviously has areas in which he needs to grow and improve as a coach, he has not done anything to earn all the constant personal attacks and negative comments from all the folks who think they know how to coach based on their history of sitting on their a**es and watching basketball on TV. These same people raising Cain after every game would be humorous if they were not so pathetic.

He should have made them call a T about midway thru the first half, or on the no call on the screen that knocked Crawford out of the game. That's a judgement cal, a 50/50 call. Go bonkers over that while the crowd is into it and get T. That might have changed the tone of the game.

RE: Refs
I wish every thread had the box score posted at the top. It's easy to see what happened within 8 seconds of looking at the B.S. The Mustangs shot nearly 60% in the second half. Austin didn't exactly disappear with 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. If we had won, it would look like AN had a great game. It just seems like when either he or Shaq is scoring the other is willing to let them carry the load. We needed both of them scoring the ball to win+ Woodson hitting some threes. Austin was bothered by the size and physicality of SMU from the tip off. Did anyone really believe that a Larry Brown coached team was going to just lay down? Kudos to Nick and Shaq. On the refs, they didn't have to call that tech on Kedren. They could have at least given him a warning and let him keep playing. And how did they miss Markel getting nearly decapitated and sent to the locker room? They did some makeup calls. If your calling the game right you don't have to make, makeup calls.

This really is it in a nutshell. The officiating was what it usually is--fine, questionable and bad throughout, but Austin not getting out of the gate early hurt, and the other guys never got into any kind of rhythm. Maybe SMU had a lot to do with that.....

SMU absolutely designed their D to keep Austin out of the paint or to deny him the ball. The fact that Josh couldn't figure out a way to counter that and instead just took Austin out of the game speaks volumes.

Josh did another fantastic job last night and we were in there for the whole game up until the end. It's good to see SOME good fans still exist but blaming the refs is the worst cop out you can have. Josh doesn't take the shots and neither do the refs.

GO TIGERS!

Weak.

The refs were awful.

Set the tone.

Did you see the in technical foul caked taunting by SMU. Kids? Did you see the shoulder slam putting our Crawford...allowing a three? Uncalled. Did you see the clear taunt by SMU before Kedren reacted?

Probably not...you were probably not there.

Looked like he mouthed the words, "Yo momma wears army boots" to that gray haired ref. Brutal.

You are aware in the first half Crawford and Kedren played more and Moore right?

Moore took off after those two left.

Head out of butts please.

Figuratively, and mor gentle than what the rest if the goons here are doing, but watch the meltdowns.

For all the micro manage about what Pastner could have done...did any of you actually go to the game and see what he did do?

At that under eight media timeout, he coached his ass off. Austin was having a hissy fit, and Pastner got complete control back, settled him, had all the kids into it, and they played their asses off. Without Markel and without Kedren, let alone Pookie, it was simply too much late as eventually Moore got loose.

He out coached Brown...clear as day for anyone without an agenda.

Austin missed OPEN shots too guys.

The shoulder punch and the Kedren foul out changed that game. Period.

Circle the wagons instead of being dicks all the time.

I was at the game and you watched something quite different than most of us who were there. To say that Josh outcoached Larry Brown last night is absolutely as laughable as it can possibly get. Congratulations.

So you didn't see the game?

Brown had a great coaching plan that shut down Austin Nichols and we floundered.

Every time Nichols got the they double teamed him. Twice Nichols spun in the lane with the ball and a guy stole it from him.

Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve?

stayed home and watched on TV b/c I knew we didn't have a prayer of winning. When Josh "took the reigns" at the under 8 timeout, isn't that about the time SMU made their run to put us away?

Are there ANY sensible Pastner fans here? Stammers and Mimi make the good fans look like complete morons

Welp, I think the pastner bandwagon is about on it's last legs. It's a tired, worn out ride about to go to the scrap yard.

I think you just jumped the shark with that post.

Larry Brown is one of the best BB minds out there and has won an NCAA championship with a decidedly underdog team (Danny and the Miracles). He has taken SMU from the ash heap to a top-25 program in three years, which indicates that Brown is not just packing it in.

CJP is not known as an X's and O's type of coach (not yet anyway). However, according to you, CJP outcoached Brown.
