I'll make a resume list as soon as you find some threads by other posters bragging about their assistant coach hires.
I will too as soon as you find where I posted that, see any Troy post about Neal brown, any GS post about Fritz, USA about UAB transfers... God forbid we are excited about our hires.
Head coach hires are kind of a big deal. I would say this is similar to UAB transfers though. And there was a thread started about ULL making two huge hires...at assistant.
And we think they are huge hires... List the rest of the SBC assistant resumes and we will see
Ok, you win. Nobody has hired two guys that got fired by Auburn.

RE: Cajuns football promotes Melvin White to Defensive Coordinator
As bad as our defense has been, I'll take these coaches. I don't care if they were fired from a top SEC school. I don't see how it can be worse than what we had which was terrible, especially in the secondary, against SBC offennses.
We won't know how good of hires they were until next season, no matter if they were fired, let go, or whatever. All that matters is how good they can coach the Cajun defense. Apparently Coach Hud believes they can do the job that he needs done. I would hope that he knows more than a bunch of guys on a message board who are arguing if they quit or were fired.

Let's see La Tech destroyed us because of Manny Diaz who sucked at Texas/made the scapegoat. Now he is back at Moo St.
We have 3/5th of Auburn's defensive staff from a national championship contender. Add in a former HC to that staff and we have a pretty darn good staff.
Would this be viewed as a home run hire at another SEC school, probably not, but this is the SBC. So yes it is a damn grand slam.

Again, had you hired them away from an SEC school it would mean more, but the end result is you hired these guys from the unemployment line. If they were the all be all of position coaches, another SEC or P5 school would have hired them first. Good luck with these guys, I do hope they are successful for you, except for one game a year.

So nobody can make good hires in our league because if they were good they would be at SEC or P5... Got it

Never said it was a bad hire, it's just not the "beginning of a new world" hire you guys are parading this around to be. You hired guys with a lot of experience that have been at some big name schools. That's it. Sorry we don't see this as being as big as you guys want it to be.

There are 10 times more of you trying to take a sht on these men than they are cajun fans trying to sell them as a big deal.

They were let go by a national title contender. Their rejects/scrub coaches are a lot better than the guys we let hang around. I'll ask again how many SBC teams ranked in the high 40's or mid 50's on defense two years in a row. Very few if any in the Sun Belt would be let go for those rankings. And they did it in the SEC.
That's like saying you wouldn't want an Apple CEO or board member running your business if they got fired simply because you found them on the unemployment line.

Just to clarify, it's more like 1/5th when you consider that not everyone you hired was actually a position coach on staff, and if you do count analysts and such, then you're talking about 12 to 15 total on Auburn's staff.
Still a very good set of hires for Louisiana. I'm wondering why you guys promoted Melvin White and didn't give the DC job to the Co-DC from Auburn.

Yeah the DC title was kinda baffling to me as well.
Just like everyone tried to poo poo on Troy's recent hires, they just hatin.

I think both sides should bookmark this thread and then revisit the issue about half way through the season. We should know by then the quality of the hires.

No, just (yet) another troll from that dumpster fire school to our west. One has to wonder why they are given such leeway on this site.

No, they got a new boss who decided to bring in his own employees who know his scheme. There is no way with muschamps rep and expectations and pay, he would take someone's job, then demote the same person and keep him on staff. These coaches were in the national championship game 13 months ago... Where were your assistants? Squirrel huntin? Your DC just left to become a position coach at a G5... We are bringing SEC coordinators in as position coaches...Ok dude
Ummm...they had contracts and the new guy brought in other coaches so no spot for them. Come on man that's 'fired'. Absolutely the dumbest argument this week.
You are right, we hired 3 men who are totally incompetent who can't hold jobs and are constantly getting fired. We had 4 guys leave in the offseason. 1 went to NFL, 1 got a HC job, one was fired and the other was not retained. If a guy runs a 3-4 and you are a 4-3 guy you can not be retained because they are going in another direction. Not saying this is the greatest hires in the world or anything but a dude from a school who couldn't keep his DC from leaving to be a position coach at memphis shouldnt be talking sht about them. Again, they were coaching in the national championship 13 months ago... They can't be all that incompetent. They have coached at auburn, alabama, texas A$M, miss state and been apart of a lot of top SEC defenses.but hey together we rise right?
This is fun
