Reggie Gilliam
Got a chance to look at the Hudl sites on some of the preferred walk-ons in this year's in-coming class. I read about some concerns over Nevone McCrimmon somehow disappearing from this year's class (Rocket Report). There were two preferred RB/FB in this year's class, Reggie Gilliam and Michael Hutchinson. I'm no expert in predicting future success but I thought Gilliam looked pretty good in the film I saw. He is listed as a FB but in the HUDL it appeared that he was the featured back. He has real good size, 6'2",226 lbs and 4.40 in the 40......and is bigger than Hunt. Maybe someone with more insight, and is from Ohio, might have seen him play. Looked pretty good to me and wonder why other schools were not interested. The other RB, Micheal Hutchinson was smaller and had slower 40 time.

The video I saw of him was mostly as a receiver and linebacker. Has some talent. Also thought the 6-4 receiver from Monroe looked pretty good.

Nevone is qualified and greyshirting because of injury.

Have there been a lot of success stories related to being recruited as a "preferred" walk-on? It appears the chance of seeing playing time, aside from special teams, seems rare. I wonder what the coaches actually tell some of these kids. 10 for this year seems to be a pretty larger number!

There haven't been many success stories recently. A good number of the kids never make it to campus. I think some of them get IAA/DII offers, or leave after one year if it doesn't look good for them.
