What's missing is an area that adds a different element to the gameday experience. That's where a Party Deck comes in play. It doesn't have to be reserved for the wealthiest of fans. Make it a more premium ticket with an all you can eat/drink package ($75ish????) and I'm sure it'll sell out. (Who thought the Jaguars - with a terrible team and terrible attendance - would sell out Party Cabanas each week for $175-$350/person)

A gameday is not just about the teams playing on the field. It needs to be an entire experience and that's where Huskie Stadium lacks. I'm sure The Yard was a big help with the atmosphere on gameday, but improvements can still be made from tailgating to the actual in-venue experience.

GIVE ME A PARTY DECK!!!

Anybody that attended the Boca Bowl did you use the party deck at all?
What did you like or dislike about it? How important do you think the chairback seating was to your game experience?

One word for the party deck at FAU Stadium - GREAT! Comfortable chairs, tables, good food choices and fairly easy to keep an eye on the action on the field. Only negative would be the flow of people through the deck going to and from their seats.

I thought it was grea too, but it was really crowded. It's going to be a madhouse during a sellout.

I think at least one poster didn't like it; I don't remember why.

Chairbacks on the deck, or in the stands?

Every seat in FAU Stadium has a chairback. 04-bow

RE: Facilites Master Plan Announcement
Huge implications for our Athletic Master Plan in President Obama's budget proposal.

College Sports Ticket Tax Break Would Vanish in Obama Budget
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2...ama-budget

"By closing what the White House calls a loophole in the system, people would pay about $2.5 billion over the next decade in higher taxes. Currently, college sports fans can deduct 80 percent of the cost of such donations.

The budget plan also would end the use of tax-exempt bonds to build professional sports facilities. Debt to finance stadiums and arenas would be taxable if more than 10 percent of the location is used for private-business use."

Well, you can rest assured that much like any other budget bill in the recent past and foreseeable future, it has absolutely zero chance of passing.

I hate to say it but this would definitely impact my donations to HAF if this goes through. No way the Republicans in Congress let this happen so it would be a longshot anyway.

Are college stadiums/facilities considered professional?

That is my first question. I wouldn't think so but an arena like the Convo (used for non NIU events) or a baseball field that is built with a minor league team could be in the gray area as a for private business use.

To me this is actually a great short term opportunity for Frazier to scare the money out of everyone who this would impact.

Something like...
Donate now so you get your 80% tax donation because you might not get it next year if this passes!
